My child takes Detrol for an overactive bladder but still gets wet. The urologist says this happens frequently in children but I have never heard of anyone else having this problem. How do I mentally deal with this frustrating issue?

Is it likely that a child that consumes no fruit or vegetables will grow up to be a healthy and strong? I have a child in my daycare who refuses to eat any fruit or vegetables. When I explained this to the child's mother, she said she (the mother) doesn't like fruit or vegatables either so she doesn't make her child eat ANY!!! ("except fries cause she likes 'em"). She believes that a childrens vitamin supplement (Flintstone's) is adequate. Anybody know?? A source would be good.

My husband is adamant about keeping the baby gate locked at the kitchen doorway. He says there's too much in there that could hurt/burn them, etc. It started when my older son was an infant and in his walker. Our oven at the time was SUPER old (a 1952 Magic Chef, to be exact. I LOVED that range!) and it wasn't heat proof at all. When the oven was on, you could get a nasty burn just from touching the outside of the oven door. Anyway, we've since moved, and now, there's no reason why I don't see that our kids (ages 3 years [he'll be three on March 2] and 20 months can't play in the kitchen when I'm in there. Not necessarily while I'm cooking because that really could be dangerous. I mean while I'm cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, doing laundry etc. All the cleaning supplies/chemicals are put up on the shelf above the washer and dryer. Knife block is up on the back of the counter, etc. Basically, they could play with pots, pans, spatulas, etc. Husband says no--not allowed

My son is only 16 months old and he does things that most 2 and 3 year olds can't do. Yes he still talks like a baby but some times he will surprise us by saying some random word he heard us say (Potato Salad, Telephone, Price is right (price-i-ri)) He knows the names and can point out eveything on his face (eyes, nose, mouth, ears, cheeks, teeth) He knows the names and can point out the colors red, blue, yellow, and green. And last weekend we bought him a potty and he knew what it was right when he saw it. He uses it every day and even knocks on the bathroom door to tell us he needs to go. Could he be a genius?

My daughter and her friend have lice. We found it three days ago. I sent the friend home, washed and bleached everything I could, threw away pillows, hair ties, brushes, put the stuffed toys in a black garbage bag, did a NIX treatment and sprayed my whole house. Yesterday no one was itching and I didn't see anything. Today they are both back at it and I see some eggs. What do I do? They are only three - I don't want to keep using all the chemicals on their heads. I can't imagine with all I have done that it is coming from my house. ANY suggestions would be helpful. My daughters birthday party is this weekend and I don't want to cause an outbreak. HELP!

My 20 month old daughter caught headlice from her school aged cousin..I was not aware they had it..obviously. I've bought something called the Robi Lice Comb which is awesome, it zaps the bugs dead on contact, but it doesn't remove the eggs. I've ried the standad lice comb to remove the eggs but my daughters hair is so fine, it won't catch anyhing. At this age, my daughter is so imaptient and won't sit still long enough for me to try and struggle to get any eggs out. Please, don't say I'm a ad mom for my daughter having lice, the situation was beyond my control and lice run rampant in schools here. Do you have any suggestions that will help me get the eggs out and to be sure that the lice don't return... it just seems so gross!!!

The leaders are letting me stay with him until we have got him settled and used to the people but he is very clingy and petrified i am going to leave him. I left him in a different playschool about 6 months ago and when i went to collect him he was very very upset and his personality completely changed he became fretful and nervous and wouldnt let me out of his sight and started to make himself sick if he got worried.Has anyone else ever experienced this and how did they help their little person get over this hurdle?? any answers greatfully accepted

These little guys are cute, and I like the show, but some of they things they have to "overcome" are just stupid. "How do we get past this mountain" No don't go in the cave, get back on Rocket and fly over...DUH!

If you ever observe these cases in the show, you'll see how hilarious they are to an adult mind!

My 16 month old girl has a lot of toys that she loves to play with. She is getting into building blocks, leggos, puzzles and always loved books. My problem is that so many of these toys have mulitiple parts to them, and I was wondering what you did to organize all of your children's toys. I have already gone through the ones she doesn't use anymore and packed them up for the next baby (in a few years!).

My son was bitten yesterday at a day care centre. The child who did this has bruised my sons arm with the force that was used. I know things like this cant be completely stopped which i accept, i also was told by the staff the child was told off and that the parents would be informed of their bad behaviour, but when i got home i asked my son who had bit him and he refuses to tell me saying " i cant tell you mummy" its really doing my head in as it feels that my son cant trust me, i even tried to get him to whisper in my ear. am i wrong in thinking that if my child wont tell me this that he will hold back on telling me more serious stuff that has happend to him? Have the day care staff got a right to tell him not to say anything?

I have a 2 yr. old boy and a 1 yr old little girl. My son has been quite aggressive, possesive with toys(but does well with sharing his food, go figure) with her lately and just being plain mean to her. I myself fall victim to abuse from my older brother over the yrs. and am very scared that history will take its course with my little ones. I have tried time-outs with him when I see he is at fault and have talked to him about being sweet to his sissy. I also have a 3m. old little girl and he does absolutely WONDERFUL with her. Please help!

My son hasen't been eating properly in a couple of days. For somereason he's just not interested in eating, No veggies No fruit, Not even KD. Only if I make him sit at the table until he try's it or at least has a couple of bites.
He's thrown up 3 times since saturday, the doctor said it sounds like a stomoch bug.
But since the last time I saw the doc my son has started having almost white bowle movements. What does that mean? He seems to be still active and in good spirits. But I'm concerned about his poop. Why is it white? (not like wedding dress white, but like really really light brown).
i just wanted to say that he has no problem with drinking his fluids. If anything he's drinking too much. i'm just concerned about the colour and what it means?

My son is 13 months old and can not live without his pacifire. When he was first born, we had (and the doctor) decided it would be best to have one because the doc said it reduces SIDS. I though we would take it away after about 9 months...yeah right! We have tried to hide it, keep it away , and throw them away. He just screams until he gets one. I just don't know how and what to do to get him off of them. What did you do?

I weaned my 15 1/2 month old son about a month ago. At first we weren't giving him much cows milk (maybe 3 oz a day) but the doctor said he needed 24 oz a day so about 5 days ago we really started encouraging the milk so he was drinking 24 oz a day. On the 2nd day of the 24 oz he got diarrhea. After the 2nd night of diarrhea he broke out in hives. So the 3rd morning I brought him to the doctor and she said it looked like a cows milk allergy because he was a bit weezy. She recommended we take him off cows milk and do soy milk for a bit, then try and reintroduce cows milk.

So yesterday he started on soy milk. He drank 3 sippy cups (about 24 oz) and he was SOOO gassy and grumpy. He had been sleeping through the night for about 2 1/2 weeks prior to last night. Last night he woke up every hour screaming. He pooped twice (he never poops at night). He was just gassy, screaming, very very very very irritable.

I called the doctors office and I can't get him in for 2 weeks.....
