I have tried distractions like giving him a toy in his hand, changing him in front of the tv or singing to him, but nothing seems to work. He continues screaming and kicking.

My son is 3 and will not eat any fruits or vegitables anymore. I can't get him to try new things either. He wants the same things all the time and most of them aren't very nutritious. I want him to be healthy, but can't get him to eat fruits, vegi's or most meats either. He will only eat mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and french fries. I tried the whole "You'll go to bed hungry if you don't eat your dinner" thing and that didn't work and neither did taking away snacks and deserts. Any suggestions on how to get him to try new things and eat fruits and vegis?

A couple weeks ago I had asked for advice on potty training my 3 and a half year old nephew. Well the advice I recieved on here helped a lot! He is now independantly wizzing like a man in the toilet, He hasn't had an accident since. But now I can't get him go do the big job. He refuses to do it on the toilet. Since the pee pee advice worked, any ideas on the other?

My son is 5. He's been potty trained for over two years now, but nothing I do can get him to stay dry at night. We've tried rewards for staying dry, cutting back on his liquids at night, still no success. I know they say a child's bladder isn't big enough to stay dry during the night until they're five, so what gives? What can I do, any advise is welcome ( they're running out of pull up sizes to fit him)

I'm not really in a major rush to potty train but she does like sitting on the potty she brings it to me sometimes and she sits on it every night before her bath although nothing happens.
Also when she has done a poo she runs to me clutching her nappy saying 'poo poo' and if she does a wee without her nappy on she takes great interest in it.
Where should I go from here?

My husband and I are trying to plan in advance for our daughters educational needs, and we got sorta confused last night as to the order of schooling. I thought it went like this:

1. Daycare
2. Preschool
3. Pre-K
4. Kindergarten

My husband disagrees, and says it goes straight from preschool to Kindergarten. We're trying to work out what we're going to need to pay for, and what we won't. From my understanding you have to pay for preschool and Pre-K, but of course not Kindergarten. Does anyone know the proper order, and which ones have to be paid for?? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Unless he's having me on, he never identifies the letter "A". He always calls it a "4". It does look somewhat like a four, but this is even when we're practicing letters. Similiarly, identifies only 4 or 5 letters 100% of the time. Also, he refuses to use the toilet for BM (he will urinate when prompted). First child, so I have no point of reference with which to compare.

I have a dare devil of a son and I have tried spanking, which I do not prefer, and I have removed certian items to ensure his saftey but this child will find a way to climb on to get to anything he desires. I do not sit unless he is sleeping, I take him to the bathroom becasue he will do crazy things like use my kitchen drawers as a stairway to the counter, they are latched so he cannot get in them but he can surley climb up them. His father has suggested we remove our center table, our end tables and well just about anything he can climb on and I refuse, I feel we need to find an effective form of discipline because I will not be sitting on my floor because our son will not listen.

they are definitly not child proof. I can only correct and redirect so many times, there is no way to avoid every single outlet, every single second of the day. She seems more fasinated with them because they do have the covers. I took them off for a while, and she trys to stick anything she can in them. This is driving me crazy, any ideas. and please realize I have tried time out, hand spanking, correct and redirect, NO!, THATS BAD, blah blah blah, the usual..... ty in advance for the help

At my stepsons birthday party the children were upstairs in the playroom playing when my 5 year old touched his 11 year old cousins breast. It seems to me that everyone is making a big deal of this. I just want to know how normal is this and how concerned should I be?

My mother keeps telling me that I need to start potty training my 18 month old but I don't know if she is ready or even where to start. Can anyone PLEASE give me some tips or advice. I would really appreciate it.

Does anyone have any advice for comforting a 3 year old who is vomiting? All my daughter wants is for me to sit with her but I feel like I should be doing something more for her. She's at the point where it is only stomach acid that she is vomiting and she can't yet keep any water down. What do you do for YOUR children when they are sick?
