My son is 18 months old and I was wondering if it is safe to feed him a hotdog?I would obviously cut it into tiny pieces so he would not choke but I have heard they can cause cancer if children eat them-is this true?Do you feed them to your toddler?

My father said the word "***" in front of my 18 month old, she then repeated it. I don't want to punish her because it would deter her from repeating words I want her to learn, and she wouldn't understand why it is bad. So what is the best way to correct the situation?

My son is five years old. He was completely potty trained by three. When he was four we moved afterwhich he refused to poop in the potty. He pees, but will not sit to poop. Instead he poops in his underwear. The worst of it is he never says a word, he waits for you to find out. He will sit in it until sommeone cleans him. We've tried putting him back in pull ups, but thenm he won't pee in the potty either. We've tried rewards for going in the potty, but he will just go a little bit then after he gets the prize he poops in his pants again. We've seen the doctor \, they gave us a gentle laxative and said he should grow out of it. It's been a year will no changes. If we try to make him sit on the potty until he goes, he screams like we are trying to kill him! He goes to school now and gets upset when the other kids find out, but still refuses to go. We've run out of ideas and no one seems to know a solution.

I feel like a moron asking this, but I have a three year old daughter that wears a 5t. She's very tall for her age and I am shopping online for clothes for her. A lot of the websites don't have the toddler sizes, so I was wondering what the closest regular size would be to the t's and if it's close enough that it might fit her. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

My 3 1/2 year old still puts everything she picks up straight in her mouth ---- I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have any ideas on ways to curb this behavior?

I do mean EVERYTHING she touches goes straight in her mouth, she's even chipped one of her teeth.

I asked her pediatrician about this during her last checkup at 3 and she said it was okay, but I don't notice any other kids her age doing this.

Any suggestions?? Does anyone else have a child this old that still does this?

Sometimes I serve hot food like soup, noodles, or rice, on my toddler's plastic ware, notably those plastic cartoon plates and bowls. Does it pose any health risks to the kids using these materials? I.e. dioxin poisoning or so forth?

I took my son for his 3 yr check up in July and the doctor could not clearly understand what he was saying. Doctor said "His speech isn't very clear but it's not time to worry yet" It suprised me to hear him say this since I am with my son all day everyday and understand every word he says. Then I started noticing when we were out that a lot of people don't understand him. Mostly men or my single friends .. just about all the "mommy's" I know seem to know exactly what he is saying. I have tried several times to see if he is mixing letters or anything and I don't think so. .. he is just kind of quite and runs his words together. Any other moms out there with this experience? He speaks in full sentences even paragraphs and will say hilarious things like "that's pretty funny isn't it?" or "hey guys whats going on?" like he is all grown up or something. What age should boys be speaking clearly? Should I be working on his speech with him? It's hard since I already understand it..

I have a 3 year old that is not talking. She can say single words like mama, dada, and a few other words but not like sentences. And when she tries to say some words they come out different. Someone told me it might be autism but her doctor said it wasn't autism.Do you have any clue what might be the problem?

I am looking for a Go Diego Go bed set. Not the actual bed. I have looked everywhere I can think of. I can find twin sets, but not toddler sets. Please, if anyone knows where I can find one, or where I should continue my search, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

My 5 years old daughter has trouble pronounce nasal sound like M/N. When she says 'mummy' its sounds like 'mbumby' or when she says 'nanny' its sounds like 'ndandy'. she has enlarged tonsil and adenoid. Does this (tonsilitis) cause the speech problem? We still consider about having her tonsil remove because of her young age, but if the surgery will make her better in pronouncation then I think we`ll go for it.

We have an artificial tree that is attached to a base that last year was out of reach, bascially a shelf that cannot be moved. This year, he's climbing on everything. To tree or not to tree that is the question. The tree is prelit, so that's not a prob. It's more the ornaments I'm worried about. We live in a mobile home, and I don't have a clear view when I'm in the kitchen all the time.
