we have our house full of filters for the air, she is an outside girl so we are out there getting excercise everyday. she is a healthy eater, gets all her vitamins that way, and she sleeps really well.

they all say that she is too young for alergy testing, her age 16 months is too young for real allergies, which i don't believe. but they also say that at this age this is just what kids do. is that true?

They can draw blood and do allergy testing, they just won't usually do the skin allergy tests until at least 2. Does she have a lot of ear congestion as well? My now 34 month old daughter got tubes in her ears almost a year ago, and has not even had the sniffles since. She practically lived on antibiotics for a while there.

You are right to be concerned that is waaaaaay too much medication. Try an allergist. Since all this stuff involves things that appear to be allergic reactions and respond to antihistamines...If your doctor doesn't like the idea tell him it is your decision and you want a referral. If you do not need a referral call the nearest large or pediatric hospital and talk to the referral desk; actually if you call and get the appointment that office will call your doctor for a referral if necessary....this is nonsense and you all need a break.

You can also run a cool air vaporizer in her room and make sure you vacuum in there daily with a clean bag. Do not use fabric softner sheets they are the number one cause of asthma and allergies in children...milk is also a biggie; as is wheat...did this start with the introduction of food? So many questions, eh...see an allergist. Good luck.

My daughter is now 12 and she has had this problem all her life. We had her allergies tested a year ago and she is allergic to many things, cats, dogs, molds, grass, trees and the list goes on. She gets allergy injections once a week on top of daily use of nasal sprays and antihisamines. Every cold she catches turns into a sinus infection. Since we've waited so long to get this taken care of she has developed severe acid reflux disease. This was caused by all her drainage leaking to her stomach. Her diet is limited because of that. Because of her acid reflux, which has causes her to vomit quite a bit in the mornings she has damaged vocal cords.
So my advise to you is to you to get him tested by an allergest because it could lead to other medical issues later down the road.

Seems to me every child that age has colds, runny noses and fever all the time. I believe they catch it at day care and it just keeps going around and around. Looks like you're doing all you can to keep her healthy, but from my experience all children have these things from birth until about 7. Good luck.

Could it be that you have some sort of enivronmental problem in your home; for example, mold. So what does the doc say. Do you think it's okay to give her children's vitamins. Sometimes it takes awhile for their immune systems to develop. I thought docs were trying to get away from antibiotics. Make sure she gets outside for plenty of exercise and sunshine EVERY day.

I had the same problem with my son, Seems like he satyed sick all the time with ear infections and runny noses and congestion. he had been on many antiobiotics and I was like you..I hated to keep giving him meds... Finally my Dr was out of town one weekend and my son got sick, I had to take him to the after hours clinic and seee another Dr. When I told him of all the illness we had been thru he suggested changing his formula to a milk free one.. I changed to Isomil and he cleared up and we had no more problems. May not work for you, but it helped him. Also the Dr told me when he did get congested to tkae him offf of the formula and just give him juice to drink. He said the formula or milk makes everything thicker..and it seem to make sence to me. Good luck..

Obviously she is coming into contact with people who carry the viruses. It doesn't matter what she wears outside, the weather does not creat viruses. Viruses are the result of germs. Germs pass from human to human through touch. She is obviously in contact with people who have been sick.
