My son is 22 months old and can only say about 20 words. He knows what things are and when you ask him to get something or do something he can. When I asked his doctor about it he said that he needs to see a speech therapist. I am just curious if all of that is really nessasary. He can put like 5 words together but can't make complete sentences. I am just not sure what to do. He is a very active child and is very friendly. The doctor says that ha has all of his physical skills down. He can throw a ball and climb stairs and all of that. Please give me your opinions.

I need to take my 3 yr old to the dentist. How do they treat such a little guy? It isnt like they sit there and open up! I had an apt last week, and in the waiting room, another mom told me they strap them into the chair! Do they really do that?? Then the dental asst. told me I could not go back with him! Like I am going to hand some stranger my baby! Help! I dont think he has any cavities, but is it safe to wait until he is older & understands?

Just wondering if anyone else would be mad if their child saw this at his or her grandparents' house. I'm not sure which one it was. I'm furious and my husband agrees but they think it's silly for me to care. We don't allow her to watch TV at all and her grandparents know that.

Our 15 m/o is at the 'no fear' climbing and racing stage. Today she bumped her head on the corner of a wall and it swelled and bruised terribly. An hour later she bumped her head slightly (I was there for this one) on the corner of a padded chair....again, black and blue and some swelling. Later today....after getting home from our travels...I took her leotards off and her legs are bruised!
:( I'm wondering if the bruising and swelling could be indicative of a diet issue? She's at the stage where she's refusing to eat certain things (well, most things)...she drinks Vit D whole milk, some fruit, some eggs, and anything carb (cheerios, crackers, toast, etc). Could the bruising and swelling be an indication of lack of protein/iron? Something else? She's always been quite active and has had the normal accidents...but none have caused this type of result.

Tx-in-advance!

My husband has no patience and I am starting to notice that our son is taking after him. He gets mad and angry and makes these cute faces but I don't want him to grow up not knowing how to handle his frustrastion. I have read that Legos is a good patience building toy but so far they just seem to make my son even more frustrated. Does anyone have any advice on how I can teach my son patience or is this something that can't be controlled?

So me and my friend the other day were in Target with her 2 year old. Well he saw this horse and it is spost to be like a real horse and he was playing with and having a good time. Well I was done looking around and I told her I am ready when you are. I know is going to take a minute to get her son away from this toy. So she says we can go. So okay he is whining because he want to go back to the toy. She says no it is time to go. Well we are in the check out line. This lady across the way says to her why are you ignoring your son. We both looked like what this lady is really talking to us. Okay for one I want to know how she was ignoring her son when he is standing down by her feet whining, we all know we wish we could ignore that but you cant. So then the lady said you are showing him you are powerful. Then I stepped in and said excuse me he is the child and she is the mom she is spost to be incharge right? Then I went off on this lady and said to mind her own bussiness. I don't

He only takes it when he lays down for a nap or goes to bed for the night but he will wake up in the middle of the night if he loses it. I go into work around 9 in the morning and I take him to work with me so I can't really let him cry it out there when he takes a nap since its in an office setting. He won't even take the Ortho kinds, he only wants the Gerber Soft Center for newborns since thats what the hospital gave him when he was born. Can anyone help?

My little boy, who is two and a half, has been real sick with persistent coughing.I took him to the doctor today and he said that he has an inflammed infection in his throat, and kind of like symptoms of early bronchitis. The only thing is that I gave my son his antibiotic and his cough medicine and he has not been wanting to eat anything, he maybe ate two or three fries, so then he vomited on the way home.I told my husband to keep trying to feed him something because I am concerned about him drinking too much medicine, and he does drink milk as well, but not eating...Any advice/suggestions.*He does not like Pedialyte or any of those Pedialyte products.

I was thinking about getting the V.Smile Interactive Baby Learning Station or the LeapFrog Interactive Little Leaps Grow-with-Me Learning System for my 2 year old daughter who loves banging on my computer and pushing buttons. Anyone have any experience with these? Which is better...or is there a different one your prefer, or are they not worth the $ at all. Thanks
