I am a divorced single dad of a 2 and 6 year old. I want to find more things for us to do. Reading can be one thing, but we never do it. Partially because I know they will not sit still. Perhaps I cannot try and read the same story to both of them due to the age difference. I could take the 2 year old asided and (*learn*) start there. Good idea? I am going to Borders today when i pick them up, I have them every weekend, and get a good 2 year old book he would like. Are the books that ADD sounds, with the squares you push a good idea? They ARE fun, but in the end does it ruin the idea of reading to them?

My two year old son has developed a red mark on the bottom of his big left toe. I seen it like two days ago and thought that it was nothing more than him squeezing his toes down to much. But then this morning I was about to put his socks on and he had a thick, hard, yellow crust surronding his entire toe. It was cracking so I peeled it and it's so hard that I couldn't peel the rest of it off and it started bleeding in certain areas. It doesn't seem to hurt him at all, but after peeling it you can still see where it's back red. I don't know what this could be and it's really worrying me. It's not on any of his other toes, but just on that one. Does anybody know what this could be? And if you have had experience with this was their a solution and what did you have to do? Please help????

He's only two years old, and all of the shampoos and conditioners and what not people have told me about seem to be made specifically for adults. He's mixed and I don't have the same hair problems he does (opposite, in fact) any ideas would be extremely helpful.

Of course it is only Noggin and Wiggles tapes I have.
We are having our home worked on and so we live with my Dad in an apartment and so he would get so bored and never let me take care of our newborn if I kept the TV off.
I also spend some time here and there playing with him with play doh and coloring but other times he just wtches TV and plays with the few toys he has here. Is this bad? Does anyone else let their child watch that much TV?
Please don't tell me to do more activities with him I have to feed my baby and clean and cook, after all.

I am a stay at home mom who is currently 24 weeks pregnant and I was wonder if there where any moms or dads who work form home. I am having a hard time finacicnally and was wondering if there is any legitamite work-from-home companies that will pay you to do things online or whatever. I don't want any of those ones that you have to pay money before they will let you work for them, I really need something that will help bring in some money to my household. Or if anyone else has any ideas of things that I can do to help other than gov. assistance because my hubby makes a little too much to qualify for anything. Any ideas or suggestions would help. I have tried applying for jobs but as soon as they find out that I am pregnant they never call back for an interview or they just blow me off if I get an interview. I know that this is not legally right but there's nothing I can do about it, please if anyone has anything that will help I would appreciate it and thank you ahead of time!

What did you do with your infants bottles once they stopped using them? Would it be taboo to give them to another mother if they were nice bottles and gently used? Or should I toss them?

We have tried many times and it ends in her crying hysterically, she takes juice from a beacker but not milk. Things that have been successful for you or someone you know.

My 2 and a half year old daughter is brilliant at using the loo to do a wee but, when it comes to poo, she refuses to use it, doesn't tell us when she needs one and consistently fills her pants with poo.

I need some suggestions to help remedy this please?

Honestly...he is so rude. And I don't know how to stop this behaviour. He seriously makes me want to cry. Not cause my feelings are hurt but because I'm SO frustrated with him.

But sometimes he is the sweetest boy. It's like hot and cold. If he gets pissed....watch out!

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to deal with this? Any books/literature?

I CANNOT be the only parent with a child like this.

My daughter is doing wonderful going pee pee on the potty and is even wearing panties! My only problem is she refuses to go poop in the potty. She goes and hides in a room or under the table to go, and tells us about it afterwards. It's not just once in awhile, it's everytime she goes poop and if we catch it right when she's starting to go, she stops going even if we leave her alone on the potty. Is this going to pass? what can I do to encourage her to go poop in the potty instead of in her panties?

It is really funny, but is it normal ( I know he's male) he will running (well trying) to run around the house then stop grab his penis, in the tub, he will take his diaper off, or just undo while his watching his movie, trying to change his diaper is a struggle just trying to keep his hands away for a second. My four year old was never like that ( not even close!!!) Is it just a phases?

I don't have a child but my grandma babysat this really annoying brat. Hes four and I hated it! Don't think he's all innocent either. One time he hit his kid brother when I was there visiting my grandma and then the little boy started crying. He blames things like broken toys and messes on his little brother, who's two years old. He ran around the house when my grandmother was not looking, even after the fact that she told him repeatedly not to. He doesn't listen. Their mom doesn't care cuz she's poor, or my grandma felt sorry for her cuz she's one of our relative's good friends.
