I never wash brand new clothes, I just wear them! It never occured to me that I would have to wash brand new clothes for a baby either but I've heard some talk about it. I don't want to wash the brand new outfits because they still have tags on them and if there is an issue (she's born too big for them or she ends up being a he, I want to be able to take them back!! ) What do you think? Is it really neccessary to wash new clothes?

had routine blood tests done at 3 month scan for hiv syphillis you no all the scary ones, i had them done last friday and still havent heard back. my midwife is off sick, but do you think that if anythink was wrong they would have called someone else to let me no or would they wait till she was back at work? and would i have heard back from them in a week if anythink was seriosly wrong im a worrier?

Are OBGYN exams other than the annual papsmear covered on regular HMO policies? For example, exams in the first trimester when I would be pregnant: would they be covered under my copay or would I have to get maternity ins?

Where do stretch marks start? Can they start around your belly button. Im only 11 weeks so of course i don't have them yet...im not even really showing yet. BUT i have noticed shiny lines around my belly button. They're not pink or anything and they blend in with my skin..its wierd. At first i thought it was just dry skin and i put lotion on it...but that's not it. What ya'll think?

Hello all..

I am 25 years old and pregnant for the second time. I miscarried last year and doc told me that the sac was empty. “No baby”

Now I am about 4 weeks gestation and my first prenatal visit is schedule for tomorrow. About an hour ago, I had a brown color discharge with some tissue like thing and I am freaking out. I feel that the soreness in my breasts have also gone down considerably. But only yesterday I was having nausea.

Another reason for being so scared is that, last year when the doc did the vaginal u/s and said that it was empty, I started having a brown discharge couple of days later. It went on until they did a D&E and cleaned it up. I think I would have been about 8 weeks when they did the D&E.

Can someone please tell me whether this is normal? I cried so much and I don’t think I have the strength go through another misery.

I am as of now 7 days late for my period, im not stressed or anything ( actually pretty relaxed, I am on break from school) And am just wondering...

If any mothers were 7 days late and took a HPT and it was still Negative, But you were actually pregnant when you went to the doctors??

Im going Monday.. just wondering in the meantime. Also My nipples have been very sore & tender since the monday before last...

i took the pregnancy test today in the morning 2 weeks after the day my husband and i ..

its written on the instructions that if there were 2 lines then the results would b postive if one line appeared then the results are negative l..

i forgot to recap the test .. and 2 lines appeared one of them is like purple and the other one is dark purple !!

what does that mean ?

i didn't get my period because its 2 days late !! i was expecting to get it on Wed

Ok so i'm gonna try to keep this as short & sweet as possible. I'm about 2 mos. pregnant, or at least that's what 2 urine tests have proven (no blood tests as of yet- it's coming up Monday @ doc's appointment). I don't know if maybe i'm not eating enough, but i'm just not gaining any weight. I've lost approx. 5-10 lbs. I mean, i feel pregnant: sleepy, tender boobs, nauseous, hungry. But sometimes I can't bring myself to eat anything, maybe i'm just being lazy. On another note, last nite, i went to pee & heard something fall in the toilet- 2 small ($.25/quarter-sized) bloodclots. I wiped & there was some dark or purplish-brownish blood. I freaked out. Hours later, went to check again but the blood is gone. I didn't have any pain or cramps or anything. I just feel like i'm having the weirdest pregnancy, if i even am pregnant. Can anyone relate? (With the weight-loss and/or the blood while pregnant?) I'd really appreciate it if you moms/moms-to-be knew what i was going through.......Thanx

Don't freak out.. I know losing weight intentionally during pregnancy is bad not only for your health and saftey but for your childs too but heres the deal.

I am 5'9 and started out this pregnancy at 242 lbs. I am at 238 now and 16 weeks pregnant.

I haven't really changed my diet before I got pregnant any becuase I have read all the horror stories about losing weight during pregnancy... but whats better eating mcdonalds and cheto's during pregnancy and gaining the recommended amount of weight during pregnancy better than eating a healthy balanced diet, excersizing (walking 20 minnutes per day) and losing the weight naturally because I'm not consuming 3500-4000 calories a day?

I guess I just need advice. I don't want to continue eating so unhealthy but I dont want to put me or my baby at risk becuase I lose weight during pregnancy.. even if I am eating a "balanced" diet.

I have heard lots of horror stories about women loosing continence for weeks after giving birth normally whilst having ulcerative colitis, due to the pressure of pushing excessively on the bowel. I am considering asking my consultant for an elective section. Was just wondering had anyone any knowledge of this?

i've been having a few contractions lately but i have no idea when to call the hospital.

sometimes they can become really close (5 min. apart) yet stop for awhile then continue at different times. it's starting to hurt and i also have back pains, yet because the contractions "wear off" i don't call the hospital or anything.

they say that you should call when the contractions are "too hard to even talk through" and i haven't had ones like that yet but i have had a few that were pretty painful (i'm guessing really strong bh).

i'm posting because i want to know WHEN IS A GOOD TIME TO CALL THE HOSPITAL and WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR FIRST FELT TRUE CONTRACTIONS? this question goes out to the preggo mamas who've already been through it.

How are you gonna know whether you're pregnant with a baby boy or girl? Some old ppl saying, if you love to eat crackers, then its a baby girl and if you love heavy food, its a baby boy. I find it ridiculous, pls share your thoughts. Thks.

i have been having contractions now for 2 hours and for the past 10 minutes it has been constant pain in my back and lower abdomen and then it gets worse with the contractions....i want to go to labor and delivery so bad but im afraid they will turn me away since they are 8-10 minutes apart and not 3-5...should i just go ahead and go or wait it out :(

I got the Mirena inserted 4 days ago. I had a pregnancy test at the doctors before she insterted it which came up negative. But prior to that I hadnt had my period for 3 1/2 weeks.I only had spotting on the day it was inserted and now no bleeding?I feel pregnant, and told the Dr that but she said it would be fine that I wont be because I am breastfeeding (i have a 4 month old) But I have been getting periods and ovulating since I had my daughter. Before I had my daughter and since I had her I have had terible periods, Long, heavy and sore, hence why I choose the Mirena as contraceptive.
Does anyone know what will/can happen to my baby if I am pregnant with the Mirena? A baby wouldnt really be good right now, but I wouldnt want to know that I hurt him/her by getting the Mirena. I dont want to go to the Dr.s just yet, I dont want to look like a drama queen and like Im over reacting! hehe
Also, does your milk supply dry up if you fall pregnant again??

Like to the point she didnt go to work, struggles to go upstairs, etc. She isnt eating very much at all and sleeps a lot.

Is this normal? Shouldnt she be eating something?

I guess the physically tired and exhausted has me worried.

Ok, here is the details. I went off birth control 4 months ago (thinking that i was pregnant, but i took 3 pregnancy(hpt) test all negative) normally when i missed one pill i would automatically start my period. I have not started my period, but have had some spotting at the begining of this month (sept) . I feel pregnant. i have been sick, certain smells bother me, headaches, bloated, etc. What gives?

im only 32 wks pregnant,i have my pram,crib,sterilliser,bottles,nappies,baby tioletries and lots of clothes...and was wondering what i should have thought about getting that is most important at the moment...i dont get a large amount of money for about 3 weeks yet so i have little bits of cash here and there until then. my parents said to start on my hospital bag...then the other things after because they arnt so important...
I also wanted to know if maybe i should start exercising?

I was induced earlier in the day and got sent home because they said I wasn't really in labor and wasn't dilating at all...even though I was crying it hurt so bad and I actually have a high tolerance for pain!! So my hubby and I go to meijer before we actually go home. I was sitting, waiting for a prescription when I was having my really bad cramps and felt a weird popping feeling. I didn't think much of it since the doctors and nurses said I wasn't near the real thing. So our prescription is finally ready and I get up and It felt like I was peeing!!! I was in pain and trying to get everything paid for and we went to the bathroom as fast as we could and it was all watery and lightly bloody looking so I assumed my water broke. What was really bad was that it was rush hour so it took forever to get to the hospital!!! We get there and i'm 5 cm dilated and I push my son out 5 hours later! I guess I really was in real labor!

Ok this is what i need help with,

i just did some really hard thinking about my ast menstrual period.

The last HEAVY period i had was on January 15th 2007, I was supposed to get my NEXT PERIOD around February 15th or 16th it always came around that time, I had no bleeding until FEBRUARY 22ND, and that bleeding was very light, and didnt last long. My usual periods last 5-7 days and this only lasted about 2-3.

Could i have already been pregnant when my period was 7 DAYS LATE? was the bleeding i had feb.22nd IMPLANTATION BLEEDING?

According to all the research it was, and instead of being 30 weeks i should be more.

could my doctors not be able to tell this?
