Hello all..

I am 25 years old and pregnant for the second time. I miscarried last year and doc told me that the sac was empty. “No baby”

Now I am about 4 weeks gestation and my first prenatal visit is schedule for tomorrow. About an hour ago, I had a brown color discharge with some tissue like thing and I am freaking out. I feel that the soreness in my breasts have also gone down considerably. But only yesterday I was having nausea.

Another reason for being so scared is that, last year when the doc did the vaginal u/s and said that it was empty, I started having a brown discharge couple of days later. It went on until they did a D&E and cleaned it up. I think I would have been about 8 weeks when they did the D&E.

Can someone please tell me whether this is normal? I cried so much and I don’t think I have the strength go through another misery.

I feel your pain and sadness. You should go to the Dr. If they have no appt. right away then go to the ER. You might be over reacting, but it is better to be sure then to ignore it and it be something wrong.

Brown discharge is actually normal. Most women get it early on.

You didnt miscarry in the sense that you had an embryo and it died, it sounds more like you had a blighted ovum that wasnt able to grow due to genetic issues or outside factors. Its not the same as a miscarriage, i know its the same as a loss of a child, but medically its not the same thing. Your body didnt fail the baby, the baby failed to form. All that to say that women have that sort of thing happen all the time and dont know it because it happens the week of their periods.

You'll lose your symptoms and gain them back when youre pregnant, because your hormone naturally fluctuate. Dont worry about that.

I'd say just go about things as usual. Nothing about it sends up red flags to me.

I spotted at 4 & 8 weeks with my first two pregnancies...it is normal for that to happen. No one on here will be able to give you a definite answer.

Your dr will be able to let you know for sure what's up. I was very worried at the time, but my doctor recommended I sit and put my feet up, relax, and try to realize that good or bad, it's out of my control. Very hard to do, but it was the best advice I got about it.

A lot of women miscarry and go on to have perfectly normal pregnancies in the future.

Brown is not a bad thing.... I have had 3 miscarraiges and 2 beautiful daughters.(and one on the way). ANYWAYS...I had brown discharge with all 3 of my healthy pregnancies. It is when you see bright red and heavy that you need to worry. Relax and wait to see the doctor. I know that is easier said than done...TRUST me. I have been there. But....the stress will only make it worse. Put your feet up, watch some TV, and don't give up! Good luck to you!!!

Sounds like a miscarriage :( At least those were the symptoms with mine. Sorry about that...

I had a D&C at 16 weeks, when the baby died at 8 weeks, had no signs, except for the brown discharge 8 weeks later.

I had brown discharge early on in my first pregnancy and the dr said it was pretty common.
But because of your history I would speak to your gp for reassurance.

Sorry for your previous loss and good luck.
