Barrier methods may be your best bet (IUD, diaphragm, condom, cervical cap, etc.).

The Nuva Ring might be okay for you to use, it does contain estrogen though. There is the 'mini pill' which is progesterone only. The Depo-provera shot is just scary, causes weight gain and a whole load of other problems.

If you want something non-hormonal talk to your doctor about an interuterine device (IUD). If you're absolutely sure you don't want (anymore) children, then consider getting sterialized or better yet, if you have a long term partner/husband ask him to get a vasectomy. Good luck!

Talk to your doctor about Depo (the shot). Or the patch. You could always make it the guys responsibility to take care of the birth control though.

Any method of birth control has horrible repercussions for females. Most of the methods for females tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant. Therefore, you have all the cravings, the weight gain and mood swings of a pregnant woman even though you aren't.

They have come a long way over the past few years but you should ask your doctor what will be best for you and your current situation and sexual activity.

there are different kind of birth control
but first, you must seek some doctor's advice for the birth control that is works for you,
if you can't take pills, there is an indictable (depo shot)
if it's not advisable for you the chemicals that contain the pills and depo, you should try the barriers, like IUD, condom and diaphragm,
there is also a natural birth control
you have to check your menstruation, and body temperature.
withdrawal is also a kind of birth control
and the most is abstinence

Don't get Mirena IUD or the DEPO they are both awful. Look at resources and message boards from people who have had both, their testimonials will tell you not to get them. I had the depo years back, only went for 2 shots (6 months) and it was awful. I just had the Mirena put in after my 2nd daughter and shortly got it removed, I felt awful and not like myself. We are now using condoms and not doing any type of hormone birth control ever again, it just messes with your system.

Try the depo shot. It works just as soon as they put it in your arm (its just a shot) and its good for 3 months. Plus use a condom if your with more than one parter just to be safe the other way.

I used the nuvaring AND LOVED IT!! I had the best periods, and it was easy to put in and out. Only down side, it occassionally slipped out during sex, but you can just pop it right back in. It was amazing!
