my husband and I have a 2 mth old baby boy. His three kids live with us, the youngest being 12yr old girl. We dont ask the kids to take care of the baby or anything but we just found an email with her telling her friend that she hates the baby. What do we do ? If I come out and ask her about it then she realizes that we have access to her email (no judgement she is 12 and we have stopped several problems before they started ) I dont want her to resent the baby but I dont know how to get across to her that he is only a baby

One of my friends just told me that she won't let her teen get a license until after she is 18 because of the costs involved. The driver's training course is several hundred dolllars and to insure the teen was almost and extra 400.00 a month. In addition, until the age of 18 they would have to be worried about losing everything if their daughter were to get into an accident since ultimately the parents are financially responsible in a teen auto accident and you could lose your home (her insurance agent warned her about this).

We will be facing the same decision. We will have two teens in the house who will want to drive. What experience have you had with the cost involved with your teen having a license? Did you decide not to let them have one?

My fiance recently punished his daugher with vinegar in her mouth and soup being she didn't learn anything from grounding and corporal punishment is out in minnesota. so the following wednesday he went to pick them up and she didnt' go with. he called the cop and told him the situation and he said to just drive away cause basically he couldn't drag her out. Their last court case the judge clearly stated that if the girls didn't have a choice when it came to going with their dad and that they had to go on his time. Does anyone know what he can do about this? now if the tables were turned, I don't think that they would of told her to just drive away. Since she got away with this, I think that his daugher will take advantage of this and do like she was doing before and go when she wants to go and don't go when she don't want to, and to me she needs to learn that she is the kid and that her dad is the parent and needs to respect him. everything we try to teach her, her mother rewinds. Help

My son Jack just turned 5 about a month ago, and he has a friend named Shawn who is also 5. Recently Shawn has started to swear and I don't want my son to pick that up, but the two are good friends and it would be upsetting for both to break up their friendship. What should I do?

I recently divorced and have 3 boys who are going into the 12, 10 & 7 grade. I just sold our house in north jersey and am currently living with a friend in the same town, trying to decide where to move to w/ the little we have to spend. My entire family lives in south jersey and is very supportive. Plus housing is a lot cheaper. But my son is going to be a senior and doesn't want to move out of town. He's very hard to work w/ & I have very little trust in him to allow him to move in with a friend or his father for the yr. I feel that moving would push him over the edge (he blames me for the divorce) and cause more trouble than he is to begin with, but at the same time feel that moving south will give me more support and a better life for my other 2 boys. Waiting another yr to move south will be too expensive. What would you do?

She has tried to "stuff" her chest, and she'll steal Catherines makeup and bras and stuff!? How can I convince her that being grown up isn't all its cracked up to be!? Thanks!?

I know, funny question, but think about this: Why is it when a child is under 2 years old, you have to specify everything to the second. You don't say she is almost two, you say she is 22 months. Once you hit the magic two mark, then you can say she is 2 or 2 1/2 instead of 30 months. I see a lot of people who do this, and wonder why. Is there some reason, or is it just a habbit that is passed from person to person?

If I say she is 1 1/2, my wife fixes it by saying she is 18 mo. Just curious to find the reason for this.

Would you more likely hire a young teen babysitter (13-14yr) if they had taken the babysitting course from the Red Cross? How much would this influence your choice? Do any of you parents "require" this for your babysitters? Also, would you give RC certified babysitters a higher rate?

Please tell me how this would make an affect on how you chose a babysitter.

Thank you.

I started working on a student permit at 15. I had at least a part-time job all through highschool. I think it taught me a lot about responsibility. I can still remember the first time I got fired, what a lesson I learned! Now though, many parents I talk to are not encouraging their teens to get a job until they are out of high school. They say that they will only be young once or that they should only be concentrating on their schooling. Do you think teens should be encouraged to work?

for your children? By sole I mean you are the ONLY one who keeps your children 24 hrs. a day EVERYday, and it's been that way since they were born. You have NO other friends or family to watch them, they are not school age as of yet, and you do NOT get a break ... at ALL. Due to circumstances beyond your control, everywhere you go they go. Everything you do, they do.

I often hear people say this, but I mean in the literal sense. I'm trying to find people who can relate . . .

My first daughter is two and she is spoiled rotten, but I know she so badly wants to have someone to interact with her close to her age. And I could see myself having another, but how long should I wait before doing so. Would having two children close in age not be good for them. Would my first daughter have issues with bringing a sibling in the house? Or should I just stick to one child and focus all on her? Im afraid that if I have another, I wont love them equally?Am I the only one that feels this way?? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thank You in advance!

The video games the kids are playing or the kid for not having enough self-control to maintain themselves after playing a video game?

My brother and I keep fighting about this.....I'm babysitting my nephew this summer, he is 10 years old (my son is 11) My son has a wrestling video game for Gamecube (He used his own money to buy it) that my nephew played ONE time....when he went home, he was imitating the wrestling moves he had seen on the game, on his six year old sister. My brother told him he can't play the game anymore, I don't have a problem at all with that........but then my brother TRIED to tell me, that my son shouldn't play the game either.....EVER because it was a *bad influence on boys*

Its my nephews fault he can't control himself, not the games fault.

I am so sick and tired of everything being someone elses fault.....take responisibilty for your actions. This is what I teach my children.......
