Just let him develop at his own pace. Are you a specialist in this field? Kids develop differently and should be allowed to do just that.

I went and read your other question.. It sounds like you are doing what he needs, he needs a lot of attention and love.
Read to him, talk to him, and play with him. It really sounds like a mix of him being sick and not having all that attention that has set him behind. He will catch up, the more you do with him the better.
My 4th baby was born at 28 weeks, we were told that she would probably never walk or talk or anything, more or less she would be severely impaired (lack of oxygen before and during birth) She is now 17 months old, and walking and running, feeding her self, some talking which seems to be more that she just doesn't want to talk rather then she cant. She understands everything we say to her, but just isn't very interested in talking unless she really wants something, usually she would rather hold her hand out and make a grabbing motion with her fingers.
Just keep doing what you are doing. And talk to his doctor, he may want you to put him in a program.

If you are worried that you child is behind, contact your county health department or the school district. My twins were 2 months premature and the county health department sent a nurse out twice a month to check on their progress and to give me advice on actvities and exercises I can do with them.
