Me and my daughters dad split up before she was born. We have always maintained an amicable relationship.
Recently our child has been staying overnight with her dad once every fortnight. Whilst I will always say that he loves her and she loves him he is not very good at discipling her and will (understandably) let her have all her own way (she is 4)
She keeps coming back tired and sick - again today as she has been eating sweets all day and has just sat in front of the TV although I even took her bike across to encourage him to take her to the park.
She has said she is bored at her dads (unpromted) and that she doesn't want to go over anymore.
I would never stop her seeing him but should I encourage him to see her during the day for the forseeable future and stop the overnight visits or not??
Any advice please. Thank you

I look forward to being a father. It's all I want. But I don't want to get married. I know I'd be a good father, but probably not as good a husband.
I see so many families work so well after divorce...shared custody, both mother and father help out...Ideally, I would want a situation like that without ever having to go through the marriage and divorce.
Does anyone know of anyone who has had this situation?
OR!

A woman can become a single mother easily. How can I, a single man, become a single father? I don't want to adopt, and I'm not sure how I feel about surrogacy.

Please do not respond with judgements about my choices. I'm not interested in that, I would like to hear genuine suggestions and comments.

My 11 yr. old has the flu.. Body aches, stuffy nose, head ache, everything.. What are good home treatments? So far today she's had Tylenol cold/flu, chicken soup, Goji juice(health juice check it out at Goji.com) and I have her sitting in a hot bath with epsom salt. She says that she's feeling a little better, but everything still aches.. She just came down with it Thursday night and only had a really bad head ache and a tummy ache.. Any suggestions would be great! Doctor's office is closed for the weekend and she's not bad enough to take to the er..

My wife and I are going to have a kid in september. We had split in Jan. before we knew she was pregnant, her thinking it best to split apart, and myself just wanting to agree with her to make her happy however she chose. Now my problem is I love the girl, shes 5200 miles away now and i dont want to let her go like that, but she still wants to because i had told her we SHOULD be apart at the beginning because its what she wanted, i know the boy is mine but what should i do?

Smoking Granny has a few years of collage, mother and granny booth are working women and claim smoking keeps them from being fat. They don’t care about the baby who has to get tubs put into his ears because of the cigarette smoke. It has been my experience that the courts don’t care eather if you kill your kids with cigarette smoke.

My husband and I are pretty good parents,in my opinion. Everyone we meet is always saying how my son is the happiest baby they have ever seen. I know that he is to young to fully understand the word no and what it means. So, when he has a temper-tantrum, I tap his leg and say no. He does not cry, because it doesn't hurt. It doesn't even turn red. I also tap his hands and say no when he gets into something that he should not. I DO NOT HURT HIM. Well, while we were at my mom-in-laws house yesterday, he was throwing a temper-tantrum so I tapped his thigh twice. Well, my sister-in-law called and said that this was wrong, and yet they SPANK their 10 month old. And I mean all out spank! How do I get them to stop telling us what to do? This isn't the first time they've interfered either. They feed my nephew everytime he opens his mouth. He is already 30+ pounds! When my son was first born, my mom-in-law put so many clothes on him he got heat rash. I'm at my wits end with them!

I have six year old step-daughter, she lives with her mom so my husband and I only get her maybe two weekends a month. We have the second bedroom set up for her, but I am pregnant with our first child together and I don't know if we can quite afford a three bedroom home. How can I decorate this nursery? If we only get my husband's daughter once or twice a month, is it wrong to just leave her bed in there and her toys and go ahead and decorate the nursery for the baby as I want? I don't want to push her out or her to be jealous of the baby. What do you think? Any ideas?

My son turned 2 July 2nd. He is VERY attached to his pacifier and it drives my father and some other people crazy. I don't really like it but when he doesn't have it and gets tired he cries FOREVER for it and sleeps through the night with it. I don't want my child to be 3 or 4 and still walking around with one in his mouth (no offense to parents of children that age who still have one). We just broke the bottle about 4 or 5 months ago. I know I am probably in for a hard time trying to get it away from him....any suggestions on how to get it away from him would be GREATLY appreciated! Please help!!!!!

I am a first time mother so I was wondering if all first time moms do this or is it just me. My daughter is 6 months old (on Thursday) and I am constantly cleaning her off...if she gets food, dirt, slobber, etc...I am grabbing a rag and cleaning her. Everybody is always saying things like "let her be a baby" "stop that" let her get dirty" etc.... Am I being extreme or do all moms do this?
