I work for the department of work and pensions and work the hours 5pm to 9pm. They no longer offer the 9pm finish to any new employees only a 8pm finish. I have been told that if you go on maternity leave they will not allow you back to your 9pm finish and change your contract to 8pm. Can they do that?

One day I knew you'd come to see
the things you sought were all in me
one day you would realize
oh my god she is that girl
you tore me down and killed my dream
but things arent what they seem
by destroying me you saved my life
you broke my back and I learned to fight
wandered aimless in the night
I'd fall apart at even the sight
but looking at you now I know Im alright
I found the way, the truth, the life.

I'm a 24 yo old who just found out I'm pregnant. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow with the OBGYN to see how far along I am. My boyfriend and I are together and they like him a lot.... I just want to know how I should tell this to my parents considering I'm in college still and live in their house still.

I had my first baby 10 months ago via c-section and even though I take care of my incision area, it's still sore and itchy. The scar actually looked uglier compared to the early months, now it's raised and dark. I'm wondering if the scar will ever stop hurting and will it lighten over time? I'm sometimes worried about it and asked my doctor, but he claimed that it's normal. I suppose that it has to do with different tissue and rate of healing in different people. I just want reassurance and get a feedback from other women in similar situations. Thanks.

I'm halfway through a 4 year university pursuing a Nursing degree, living with my fiance, we're happy and doing well. The problem is this damn urge I get to be a mother... I know this is COMPLETELY irrational and a very bad time to have a baby and trust me WE'RE NOT TRYING. It's just so strange, when I see a toddler or a pregnant woman I almost get jealous and I need to somehow stop this drive inside me because it is not a good thing at this point in our lives. (It also doesn't help hearing how much each of our parents can't wait ti be grandparents - mine are already planning where to build the swing set !)
Please don't give me any speeches about how much work kids are etc etc.... I realize all of these things and that's why I want this issue to stop. If we had a baby now we wouldn't be able to give it the best life possible, and that doesn't seem right to me.
Anyone with this same problem : what did you do to hold of this feeling for a few years? Would getting a puppy help?

I had an affair with my fellow employee, and didn't tell my husband. When we found out I was pregnat, my husband thought the baby was his, of course. My baby is now 15 months old, and starting to take on charachteristics of his biological father, who lives only a few blocks away from us. How do I keep my husband from suspecting anything, as my child grows more and more like his real father. Help me anyone! I am sorry for what i did, and love my husband to bits. Help me.

Personally, I think abortion is murder, with that said, I think it is the woman’s right to choose if she wants an abortion or “murder her child”. I know science says a fetus is a fetus is isn’t a living being but I still wouldn’t choose an abortion for myself. My questions for pro-choice people is: Would or have you had an abortion? If yes do you believe you would have regrets after abortion or have you? My question for pro-lifers: What creditable research out there says that a baby is a baby from conception until birth? And what makes you feel you have the right to decide for other people what they should do with their body/baby? I would like this to be a mature discussion, please don’t be rude to others who have a different opinion than you and if you can’t contain yourself from being rude and immature, please skip this question and answer another. Thank you all for you responses and opinions!

Approx 4 wks ago I had a miscarriage. I had a rough time of it and know that I can try again in a couple of weeks. However for the last week I have been crying all the time, mostly b/c I still cant fit into my clothes b/c I am so bloated. My husband and I wanted this baby so badly but knowing that I hate the way I look and that we may have issues at a later date has me so upset. Has anyone else gone through this?

I have a 3 yr old and I work full time. I thinking about after I have the new baby staying home for a few years, at least until my now 3 yr old goes to school. I have always worked because of financial reasons. I have always regretted working especially when my son was a baby, and I still feel guilty sometimes. My husband and I live very comfortably with us both working. If I quit of course things will be tighter, and that would take some getting used to. We would still make enough money to pay our bills. I would like to find something to do from home just part time for extra money. I guess I'm just asking for opinions and advise. Thanks

I am 38. I have been on the pill since I was 21. Now I am getting high blood pressure and need to come off the pill. Have been using condoms but my husband and I hate them and can't amagine using them here on out, we have been together 18 years. I am thinking abut the copper IUD but have read that women that hasn't had children shouldn't get 1 for the risk of it falling out. I don't plan on having kids. So a 10 year birth control sounds ideal. Do you think it would be a good idea for me since I need to stay away from hormones for my heath. Help please don't know what to do haven't had to think about birth control for a long time. The ring sounded good but still has hormones.

I had a misscarriage in May and one of my friends that got pregnant the same time of me is still pregnant. When we get together with the rest of our friends. No one will talk about her pregnancy because of me. Someone new to our friends started talking about it and then another person grabbed her and whispered what happened to me. I have gotten past what happened and this is driving me crazy! I want to be able to talk about my friends pregnancy and everything she is going through. What can I do to let them know without being rude.

I do understand they are doing it to be nice to me.

Also some of these women I don't know that well
