My 22 month old son is still nursing and I am planning to let him self-wean. I find though that despite the recommendations of the World Health Organization and countless studies... most women don't nurse this long. I'm just curious to see how long other mothers nursed their babies. And why did they nurse for that length of time?

Is there any way to get rid of cradle cap, or atleast diminish it? I have tried special lotion from the Dr, creamy baby oil, olive oil, neosporin, cocoa butter.... nothing seems to work very well! Any suggestions? Ty!

i started drinking my morning coffee again 4 days ago. i only drink 1-2 cups in the morning. the first 2 days she was fine but yesterday she was up all night and she's been up all day today. she's 4 weeks old. she keeps acting like her stomach hurts and she's really fussy even when she's in her sling and she normally loves her sling. she's been spitting up every time she eats and her poop changed from the mustardy yellow color to a darker brown. she has her checkup tomorrow and of course im not going to drink anymore coffee. is this a normal reaction to caffiene or is it something else?

What are the best items that you can think of for a baby? Obviously I know a car seat...but what can you think of as far as great products go that just make life easier? I do plan to breastfeed so I dont need bottles and that stuff. Thanks for help.

How do I get him to get regular again? He had a suppository last Friday, and that was his last BM. I'd rather he went without help from that--any advice? Thanks for your help!

I am only 19 years old and I just had a baby in august. my first one! I wanted to look for Halloween costume for her, but my husbands mother bought one, and I didn't want to be rude and be like no. So I made it clear I was going to do everything first for my daughter.

Christmas dresses were coming out and I was so excited to get her one, I went with my mother to the store and I found some I liked, but my mom told me that my husbands family already bought a cute one. My feelings were hurt and I let them know that it upset me.

So I was going to just buy one and use one for Xmas and Xmas eve, and then I was working soo much and I was thinking where to take her for Santa, and my sister took her without letting me know. She got her pictures taken and on the front page paper! I was upset soo upset, so I was going to take her the weekend before xmas, and then I was helping my husbands family move and we were talking. My sister in law told me are you still upset about your sister taking

It just seems so unnecessary. It's pain that a baby doesn't need to go through. The parents aren't giving that child a choice about getting her ears pierced. I just don't get it. So why do people have that done to their babies?

I don't mean the birth.. i mean actually having a baby around. With the crying and screaming, and not sleeping..... how hard is it? Is it worse or better than you thought it was?

My 7 mo old son has been projectile vomiting milk/formula for the past 24 hours. I switched from Similac to Enfamil, no change. He either throws up right after feeding 2-3 oz (vs usual 5-6 oz) or after 30-60 min (curdled vomit). I am not sure if he is tolerating breastmilk, he doesnt want to nurse more than a couple of minutes. He's keeping solids (BRAT diet) down mostly, but has projectile vomited apple juice. His tummy looks full even though he's eaten < 6-7 oz of solids and 2-3 oz net of any milk all day today. Bowel/urine are ok so far.
My husband has cough/cold, baby probably caught it.
Ped thinks its stomach virus (probably means she has no clue). Can he develop milk allergy this late? What should I do near term?

My husbands family is staying for a couple of weeks or so over the holiday season and since I am on bed rest, I have decided to order them all around. (It is lots of fun!!!)

http://www.decor.net.au/c/theme/the...
This is the theme of my last nursery. The underwater theme.

Now my problem is this theme was going to be a space theme, but I don't want the room to be real dark. I like bright airy places.
We have glow in the dark stars for the roof, and a planet mobile. Now I am stuck.

What kind of wall pattern, colours could I do??

I should add, I don't care if it is wall paper or paint. I am not putting it up. And the nursery is only used until the babies move into their own room, so it doesn't have to last forever. :)

Thanks. Any idea's would be awesome!!

My son is now 7 weeks old and for about the last 3 weeks nursing has started to become more of just a big sticky mess especially at night-time feedings. He gets about 2 swallows down and pops off the breast gasping for air, then relatches and does it all over again. This goes on about 5 times before he can settle down and nurse, in the meantime, I'm having a letdown that sprays all over him, me, the bed, my clothes etc... I have heard about overactive letdown, and I think it might be the problem, but I'm not sure b/c it seems to get a little better during the day, only to pick back up at night.

This is our second child and I don't recall having this much trouble with the first one, but we also ended up weaning her before we wanted to due to not having the time to pump well at work ( but that's another story altogether)

It's starting to become very discouraging, and I'm really starting to miss the "luxury" of mixing up a bottle of formula at night.

I have been trying to breast feed my son by pumping my milk but my milk supply cannot keep up with how much he eats. My son will be 5 weeks old on saturday and he eats over 30 onces a day and so I have to subsitute some of his milk with formula. I try to pump on a regular basis but it is sometimes not enough time in the day to sit down and pump his milk and plus sometimes I don't get much milk when I am pumping. How can I increase my milk supply from my breast, like I said sometimes I will get alot of milk when I pump and then other times I just don't hardly get any milk. Any suggestions are helpful.

I truly understand why some are against rice cereal. But what are some good starter foods then. I have a VERY nice blender so whatever I make can come from my own pantry. Do you recommend fresh veggies or are the frozen kind good as well (I don't eat canned veggies so don't worry about that).

And she's not starting soon, only 2 mo's, but I'm just curious what you feed your child in the beginning if not rice cereal.

At the last appointment she was dilated a half centimeter and that was two weeks ago. She is having contraction but we think they are Braxton Hicks. She lost the mucous plug as well. She is having pain in her lower tummy and lower back.

Why would a woman have a baby if all she's going to do when it arrives is put it in a car seat/crib/bouncy seat/moses basket/pram for the first few months.... then follow it up with putting it in a play-gym/baby walker/highchair for a few months after that.....then when it can get around, put it in a playpen/stroller/cot constantly?

I'm sure you all know people like this.....with their kids constantly stuck in some 'device' - anything so as not to have to interact with them?

Why do people like this even have kids?

As I was touching my 8 month's old forehead today I noticed it is so much softer than mine. I mean it almost felt like i could sink my finger in it... is this normal?

It almost feels as if her forehead is "pudgy". Yes, she is a chubby baby but can she have fat on her forehead? LOL, i know this sounds funny but I'm wondering...
