What are the best items that you can think of for a baby? Obviously I know a car seat...but what can you think of as far as great products go that just make life easier? I do plan to breastfeed so I dont need bottles and that stuff. Thanks for help.

some last minute items i didnt realize i needed in the beginning were....

a wipe warmer, by baby screamed with cold wipes for a while...

we had a swing which was a life saver!!

a co-sleeper thing for the bed...

crib toys like a mobile, mirror- if your baby likes it she will stay in the crib for a little bit while you catch your breath =)

a lightweight stroller... the one i had was soo heavy an eddie bauer one... the graco metrolite is lightweight and suitible for newborns.

A baby bath. One that you can use in the sink. Initially this will be easier, since the baby does not support themselves at all. Less stress on your back if they are in a high sink. Lots of burp rags, they can be used for many different things. Lot of sheets for crib, they soil them quickly. A diaper changing pad that washes easily. Lots of onseys and sleepers, diapers tend to leak a lot in the beginning, with that liquid diet. Boppys are cool, help with breast feeding. Also help position the baby when placed under activity bar (as they get older). A bouncy seat is a great thing to buy. Maybe some bottles in case you need to pump.

Get yourself a dual electric/battery pump...I wouldn't get a manual-that's a lot of work..Get a snugli front/back carrier...there are days when my daughter wants to be held so I just put her in that carrier and that soothes and comforts her, but leaves my hands free and it evenly distributes her weight so it's not hard on my back. I do think you should get some breastflow bottles. It makes it extremely easy to go between breast and bottle. I breastfeed but it's nice to pump and have my husband be able to feed the baby and get some of that bonding time in, too. A boppy is nice for breastfeeding..its better than using pillows and will save your arms from straining. Get little "mittens" to prevent the baby from scratching his/her face. I dont know if it's the same for every baby, but my daughters nails grow faster than I can keep up with so those mittens are great.

My last "opinion" is to get a warm mist humidifier (not hot or cold)...It really helps to break up any fluid and gunk left in the nostrils after delivery.

A swing is a life saver...Mylicon gas drops...buy mostly sleepers for the first month or so. I spent a fortune on all of the cute newborn outfits and they went to waste because my son stayed in sleepers most of the time. Lots of onesies and socks. I didn't think I would need baby monitors but sent my hubby to get them after about two days. Good luck!

LOTS and LOTS of burp cloths. The old style cloth diapers work best for this. they sell them by the bundle. Also extra sleep clothing. Remember baby gets a little messy. i also recommend a port a crib with the bassinet insert, watch the saftey latches for choking hazzards

From someone who breastfeed two kids get a breast pump. If you can afford it the Medela one is great! Milicon drops are a lifesaver if your little one is really fussy and hurting from gas. vibrating bouncy seat

Both of my kids loved their swings when they were babies or the vibrating bouncy seats. I also liked to have mylicon gas drops on hand in case they ever got gasy. Also baby monitors are good to have when your baby is actually sleeping, you can hear them without having to check on them every 2 minutes.

I love my wipe warmer and graco diaper pail and a diaper hanger. But the thing I love the most is my recliner more so than my glider for the late night feedings.

A musical projector.

Both my boys had one and I LOVE them!!! I was a little more expensive than some of the other items, but worth every cent.
It really helped relax them. They are 2yo now and still use it!!
