My daughter is 3 1/2 months old and in the evening she is refusing her bottle, she is also drooling so much and constantly sucking on her hand. It seems like the evening is the worse she is very irritable. I am having problems with her peditrican and trying to find a new one, you would be surprised at how hard it is to get an appt with a new Dr. even though I changed her pcp with the ins, the Dr's office say I have to wait to get the card in the mail I think that is just ridiculous.

My daughter is 3 and 1/2 months old. My husband is a firefighter, and a fellow firefighter and very close friend has just died unexpectedly. It is going to be a huge service. My dilemma is, my normal sitter is the wife of another firefighter and they will of course be going. We are all a tight knit group. My parents are in Rome, so they can't watch her, and I am unsure of other trusted people to ask that wont be going to the funeral. Do I take her? I am so scared she will cry and offend people during the service. It is an outdoor service so I can't walk out. Should I not go? Or will that be more offensive? My husband is chief of the Dept., so I feel bad not going and being supportive of others. I guess this is an etiquitte question but y'all know where I am coming from w/ having a baby on hand. Help =(

My son had a circumcision done about a month ago but I guess the doctor that did it didn't do it right cuz now he's telling me to go and find a pediatric neurologist in San Antonio. So if anyone knows a pediatric in San Antonio or a website I can go to so they can give me a list of doctors there I would really really appriciate it!!!

Thanx in Advance

She usually wakes up to nurse once during the night. Last night, and off and on this past month, she woke up 7 times. I nursed her once as usually, let her cry it out three times (took about 15 min.), and gave her the binky the rest. I had her swaddled so that isn't the issue, although she did nap a little longer yesterday. Any ideas or tips to get her back to sleeping better. I don't think I can do another one of those nights.

Trying to give a baby medicine is so hard.....Anyone have any tips on how to do it.? I have also been trying to feed my little guy and he is not really interested in his bottle.......any suggestions on how to make sure he gets enough fluids. The Dr told me that as long as he was drooling a lot and had tears he was not dehydrated. Just wondering what others have done.......this is my first sick baby experience and just want some ideas for next time.

My husband I are having a hard time getting our 6 month old to sleep in his crib. Lately he has become extrememly attached to me and absolutely will not go to sleep unless I lay down with him. I have no problem laying down with him and then moving him to his crib but not 5 seconds after I move him he is screaming bloody murder. The only way he sleeps soundly is if he sleeps with me. I have tried to let him cry it out but honestly I just can't do it. I don't want my child to feel abandoned and that he can't count on me when he really needs me and I feel that the Ferber method leads to that. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

my family always gave babies honey for many reasons including healing a cough or a cold.
my son has a cold and he is 1 months old, my mum has real honey and asked me to give him a spoon to heal his cold and cough but i refused because the doctor told me not to.
how come nothing bad happened to babies in our family including myself.
other thing, in my family they give babies water since birth but just a little bit, i didnt because my son's doctor said breastmilk is enough and water is bad for his kidneys, now my son refuses water even when it is mixed with syrup!!!
so the question is: are doctors always right?

She was born with acid reflux and I had to feed her smaller amounts more often, including at night according to her dr. Now, she just turned a year old and and still wakes up once a night for a bottle. I am currently trying to ween from a bottle to the sippy/ regular cup. Any tips on trying to get my daughter to sleep through the night without a bottle? My dr. told me I would have a hard time because of the feeding schedule she was on due to her reflux and now that things are better, I would like to try to ween her. Any advice?

If i try and distract him i can get five mouthfuls in (three times a day) but im worried that if i force him to eat this will really out him off his food?

We have a 6 week old baby and my husband is possibly jealous and acting VERY immature. He doesn't realize that a 6 wk old baby cannot "pay attention" to him yet when he wants her attention. So he is doing strange and immature things. For example, he will yell the baby's name from across the room. He threw a sock at the baby's face the other day and I was totally shocked. He constantly "mulls" the baby and says things like "Daddy loves you the most." He snaps his fingers and whistles loudly, either in her face or from across the room. This behavior can be appaling at times and disturbing. One major thing he did was that he took a flashlight and shined it in her face from across the room. I was horrified and very upset. How do I deal with this and get him to stop? When I tell him to stop he gets an attitude with me. I'm trying to play nice and show him attention and let him feed and hold the baby to make things better but it's not working. What should I do?

you have to do things like take a shower, take out the trash, check the mail, etc. I was told that I was a bad parent because I would put my daughter in her swing if she was awake while doing these things. They told me that I should always be in the room with my child because you never know what can happen. I understand that, but am I the only person who doesn't see anything wrong with walking outside for 2 minutes while I check the mail? Am I doing something wrong? I could put her in her crib, but if she is awake, then she would cry. I would, of course, rather have my baby cry then something happen to her, I just am wondering what you all do. Keep in mind I am talking about times when I am the only person home with the baby, when daddy is at work. She is almost 6 months old.

I was just wondering if anyone was familiar with genetic? I'm just curious as to how dominant blond hair is in genes. I'm 26 weeks with a girl. When I was born, I had light brown hair. I was light brown when I was a toddler as well. My husband, on the other hand, had almost white blond hair as a baby and as a toddler-all the way up to his teenage years and then it started to darken up. He's still dirty blond though. i would love it if my little girl had blond locks! We both have light eyes as well-mine green, his blue. I know we wont know for sure until she's here, but i'm just curious.
Thanks in advance!

My 15 week old wakes up (around) 2 am for a bottle of about 5-6 ounces. She tends to eat every 3-4 hours during the day, with sometimes 6 hour stretches at night. Every morning I offer her a bottle at 645 am before I go to work. She basically will gag when I offer it and fuss. When I take it away she smiles and babbles. Sometimes, and only sometimes, she will drink an ounce or so. When I drop her off at the sitters at 715 she is fussy and hungry! I hung out there today for a bit and she took the bottle from her and ate 6 ounces. She (the sitter) says this happens all the time...she is starving the minute I leave, but will refuse all food if I try prior to dropping her off. This ONLY happens at this time. I feel guilty dropping this "starving" child off in the morning...why do you think she does this?

Hi my baby is 3 months old and i am mix feeding her with formula through the day (with the odd breast feed) and exclusively breastfeeding at night. she is now starting to go almost all night without waking for a feed so i thought now would be a good time to stop breastfeeding. i know it is the best thing for my baby which is why i have done it till now but i am back to work shortly and will find it hard to nurse whilst working. Also i am conserned as she wont settle until she has my breast when she is tired so i am worried she will be really upset and unsettled with the child minder (my mother in law). so how do i stop without upsetting her (she wont take a dummy) and without having painfull breasts. Also what formula will be best for her. i live in the UK and she currently has Farleys first but i noticed that this is cheaper and less popular than the other formula's, should i switch and how do i do that. My baby is very healthy at present has gained weight really well from birth.

I just don't understand why some people are so certain that babies still need milk after one year, but it shouldn't be breastmilk because it's gross and creepy. I'm not criticising anyone here, I just really want to know why people think it's : inappropriate, gross, creepy, wrong etc...
