Ive only seen my baby on the u/s when I was 3 months along and I wanted to cry bc I saw everything so clear. The nose, the arms, the legs, and the belly. It was so wonderful. Even tho I havent seen my baby anymore bc my doctor is strict about ultrasounds, I still picture my baby moving in there. I am so happy to be having a baby but I feel that this happiness is just temporary, bc Ive heard a lot of my friends talk about their pregnancies and they say its horrible and labor is a nightmare. I love my baby soooo much already, but I also feel that my husband is not as excited as he should be since this is his first baby too.

starting solids did you switch to feeding your baby "table" food. my daughter is a little over 7 months old and has been eating jar baby food since she was 6 months. She's pretty much eaten everything there is to offer as far as baby food is concerned. Also if someone can provide some food suggestions when weaning to regular food (meaning more than 1 ingredient) that would be great too.

Thank You :)

I had my baby on the 22nd and I already feel like the walls are closing in on me. Everyone keeps telling me that it is more important for me to stay in the house than the baby. What is the recommended time for one to stay in the house after giving birth?

My daughter is 3 months old and my boyfriend just got back from the hospital after a month and a half. Ever since he got back, she's been a lot more upset and cries a lot more. When it was just the two of us, she never cried for more than 30 seconds unless she was hungry and she never cried until tears came. Now, she's not like that. Could it be the reintroduction of her dad? Is it her dad? Help me. I don't want to see my baby cry anymore.

I am curious as to whether or not my boyfriend and I have to be married in order for my baby to have his last name? He is the father and will be signing the birth certificate, but since we are not married does that mean the baby has to take my last name? does it differ by state law?

If your not married and you have a baby with a man who doesn't want to have anything to do with you but comes to your house everyday to see the baby. Who is rude and doesn't help with anything. Would you give the baby his last name or yours? What is the right thing to do?

My Daugther is 4 weeks old.We have been trying to establish a bedtime routine with her for a week or so now. We start at around 6pm everynight. We start with a Warm bath(which she hates) then feed her then to bed.As soon as we turn the light off she starts crying. We try to leave her for a bit and go in every 10 mins to check her, but as soon as we go in she stops crying. We try to perserve every night but hate to hear her cry.Do you think that 4 weeks is too young?

She has teeth and she is going to be one in a month. I suggested to my girlfriend that maybe she should introduce solid foods to the baby now instead of mussy baby food.
She freaks out and tells me about how she can choke and blah blah blah, but she needs to understand that it's not like we should feed her hard to chew foods, I'm talking about soft fruit or maybe some biter biskits that she can suck on or maybe those gerber puffs. Something so she can get the hang of eating on her own and grabbing her own food.
What is some good advice to make her feel better? I want her to see these answers. Thank you.

Ok my son is 6 and a half months old and not last night but the night before at midnight he woke up and had puked everywhere. Well yesterday till like 6 in the morning that is all he did. He puked up bile and was dry heaving. well I got 8 oz of Pedilyte... not all at once down him. Then about 5ish he held down a4 oz bottle. well now today he doesn't want to eat and he has diareha(SP).Oh and I took him to the Ped. yesterday and he said to just keep up with the Pedilyte. Well now he doesn't want anything. Should I take him back in or should I wait a bit and see if he eats some later. And yes I am a first time mother and I have no idea what to do

i have a 4 month old boy and my best friend just recently had a baby boy too who is now 3 months old.
I talked to her the other day about how her baby was doing
(she is in the navy and lives in washington now) and she said he is getting sooo big. He holds his bottle with a little support and can now roll over!!! my baby jacob hasnt rolled over yet and he definatley dosnt hold his bottle, he can grasp it but cant hold it up yet. i know its only a month different in age but is it ok that my baby hasnt rolled yet? He can support his head almost perfect and has alot of upper strength, he can sit with back support. just hasnt rolled over yet...
he has a dr. appt jan 30th so if he hasnt rolled by then, i will ask about it cause by then he will be almost 5 months.

I am constantly dismayed by the ever expanding empire of baby paraphernalia. Honestly, if I bought into everything the marketing machine leads me to believe I "need", I could probably just throw common sense out the window and surely, good parenting would simply happen because I am so well equipped.

For me, the baby food companies throw up red flags... Nestle(eek!) et al... Luckily, I am provided with a handy "schedule" of when, how and what to feed my child. From the puffs to the stages? to the consistency... how can I go wrong? Too bad more foods don't come in little pots!

Ugh... sorry!

Which companies make your worst list?

I have just about had it with family. This includes my husband. I love him dearly but his ideas on weaning and breastfeeding went out with the wash many years ago. I have given him information from kellymom and other sites that support extended breastfeeding and the benefits therein. Yet, he wants me to wean.

My family nearly attacked me on X-Mas day about this same issue. They do not understand that baby IS STILL benefiting from the breastmilk and it is keeping her healthy.

For those that have issue you need not apply.

She is 16 months old, eats 3 meals a day and snacks. She has been on a sippy cup full-time since she was 7 months old and took that instead of a bottle when I am at work.

She is going through sep. anxiety right now and this is not a good time. I had hoped to draw my husband out until at LEAST 18 mo. but he is getting impatient. He is not seeing the benefits of breastmilk.

I am annoyed that to me, everyone is backwards- it makes baby happy- why not?

My one year old has a runny nose for a couple of days now, and at night she can't breathe through her nose, and she keeps waking up. She's really uncomfortable, and can't get any sleep. I put drops in her nose, but she hates it. And she cries so much afterwards that her nose gets all stuffed up again. How can I help her breathe better at night?

Should I stay home after the baby is born or work another year or so to pay off debt then stay home?
Together we earn around $75k per year. We have alot of debt (mortgage $1450, credit cards, his car, utilities, etc) plus we don't spend our money very wisely and can't seem to stick to a budget. I'd like to stay home with the baby after it's born, but his employer doesn't offer health insurance, which would mean paying for a "private" health insurance plan for all of us. We got a quote for $1000 per month from Blue Cross for that. What are your thoughts stay home immediately or work to pay off debt and then quit? Please, if your going to be rude, just don't answer. If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say anything at all.

My baby will be four weeks old tomorrow, and is very restless during the day, then sleeps in the afternoon, and restless again all night. I wondered if taking him for a walk would be okay and would help him get tired and maybe sleep better. I thought maybe the fresh air would help? I live in Maryland and it is 45 degrees outside? Is that too cold for a jaunt around the block?

People in my family are having babies left and right. Personally, they are cute and all, but not really my thing.
When we all get together, sometimes they suggest that I have a turn holding the baby.

Ughhh, no thanks. Not for me. But how do I refuse politely?? New parents are so sensitive.
