My daughter is 3 1/2 months old and in the evening she is refusing her bottle, she is also drooling so much and constantly sucking on her hand. It seems like the evening is the worse she is very irritable. I am having problems with her peditrican and trying to find a new one, you would be surprised at how hard it is to get an appt with a new Dr. even though I changed her pcp with the ins, the Dr's office say I have to wait to get the card in the mail I think that is just ridiculous.

My son is too!! hes 3 1/2 months old will be 4 months Jan 10th and I just called the doctor yesterday and found out he def was teething!Hes a drooling mess! He ends up coughing alot i think due to the extra amount of saliva build up in his mouth so look for that also.
He always chews on his hands and fingers and will have these fits where he chews on them soo hard and cries! Diarrhea is also common but not always a sign. He wakes up from sleeping every few mins!He refuses his bottles and will just cry and cry and will also grab my hand and try to put it in his mouth! sound familiar? I got baby Orajel. My peditrician also said to give him infant tylenol when needed.I also hear that teething tablets work wonders.

here is a site that I looked at when I started to wonder:: http://www.thenewparentsguide.com/baby-teething.htm

It definitely sounds like she's teething! Some babies actually do get their first tooth at this age (my sister, for one), and some just start the mad drooling and slurping and irritability a couple months before a tooth appears.
I'd try the Hyland's teething tablets (they're homeopathic) when she's fussy. They saved us! Also if you have a hard time finding them, rub her gums with rum or brandy. I don't care if it's some old wives tale, because it's barely any alcohol at all and it WORKS. Sometimes it's about survival, so keep it in mind if she's flipping out!
When she's old enough to grasp better, try freezing a wet washcloth for a few minutes, so it's really cold, then let her chew on it.
Good luck, it really does pass eventually!

My son is now 4months old and has been teething for quiet a while. He sucks his hands and drools non-stop. It's nothing to be worried about, just a normal stage. I would suggest a teething ring even if you have to hold it or letting her chew on your finger, she will put your finger where the tooth is coming in at. HTH!!

Babies start the teething process months before that first tooth arrives. My daughter started drooling at 12 weeks, and her first tooth came 3 months later at 6 months. Some babies do get teeth as early as 4 months. Try teething tablets. they work great and babies usually like them.

My 3 1/2 month old is drooling like crazy! Has cold symptoms and constantly has his fist in his mouth. I'm not sure he's teething though. My pediatrician said it's too early. She said he has a cold, the drooling is because he doesn't know how to get the saliva to the back of his mouth to swallow and he's discovered his hands and mouth and is facinated by it....I guess we'll see in time if he gets any teeth if he is teething!

If she is giving you the signs perhaps. But I would wait just those couple of weeks; she can live without it. Her health is more important she may not realize what its doing inside. But its so close I wouldnt worry about it. Just do small amounts every other day until that 4 months than do 1-2oz a day,

Wash your hand and feel along her gumline most likely in the front and feel for a bump. It seems early for teething but every kid is different. If she is teething orajel is ok but doesnt last long. they sell homeopathic teething pills that dissolve instantly in their mouth. I would not have survived my daughters teething without them
