My 4 mo. old easily rolls from back to stomach, but not so much stomach to back. She also doesn't like to lay her head to the side when she's on her stomach. I am now getting up several times in the night b/c she will start screaming when she gets 'stuck' on her tummy. How can I fix this problem? She used to sleep 11 hours solid during the night:o) Not anymore!!!!

We don't have a car, but did get a travel system with car seat which has been used occasionally. Unfortunately our very large 6 month old has just about outgrown it and I am hoping for some recommendations for a car seat that will mostly used by grandparents (who live some distance from me). I am in the UK, obviously want something very safe, but adaptable without spending too much money and will last for a while without needing replacing too soon. I am usually quite clued up about baby equipment, but not being a driver, don't have a clue about car seats- happy to purchase online or in store. Thanks!!

I heard that you can't give a baby water because their bodies can't absorb it yet. And then I heard it's dangerous to give them honey. I'm not sure why though. What are some other things that babies absolutely cannot have? And when can you start giving them water and these other things? What are the side effects if you do give them these things? I'm just curious to know since this is my first baby. I don't wana poison the lil guy! haha. Thanks!

My baby is now six and she hasnt double her wait yet.She was 3.3 the time she was born and now she is 6.4.I am so worried about her and think that maybe is because she dont like her formulas.I have changed her formulas three times but its still the same, and the worse part is tha i am not breastfeeding but i have started giving her solids food at four months. The doctor said according to the way she was born she was supposed to be much far this time and gave her multivitamins but she is still weighing less. Can u please help me what can i do in order for her to like her formula.

do i need to take classes or read books on breastfeeding? will i just automatically know how to do it? my mom keeps telling me that breast feedings easy and they make things too complicated now-a-days. she says it just comes natural and to not worry about it. did you do anything to prepare for breast feeding? did you have trouble with it?

I'm due in about 7 weeks, I have my mind set on breastfeeding, the only thing is I'm in college, I'm only able to take 2 weeks off from school, I was told that you're supposed to pump every 2 hours or else there's painful soreness in your breasts, the problem is that I have 4 classes, meaning I have 4hours at school and only 10 mins between each class. Someone also told me that my body will regulate when it makes milk/how much it makes, but how long does that take?

Is there any way that I'll be able to breastfeed? Any advice would be helpful and very appreciated!

My baby is 5.5 months and within the last couple days has started to protest her bedtime. Now, I don't know if she is sick or in pain, because she never cries like this for no reason, or if she has started to figure out that when she cries, mommy comes to hold her and nurse her. I try to let her cry it out because sometimes her cry isn't a really "I need you" cry. But lately, she is crying harder and listening to that for more than ten minutes is heartbreaking. So my question is: is she sick/in pain or is she learning to manipulate me?

ps. I can't feel any teeth pushing through but we are sharing a cold right now and am wondering if this is the reason for the crying.

My 13 month old son usually chokes on everything he eats, but just recently he is throwing it up about an hour after he eats. He will start coughing and them throw up - not spit-up real and lots of throw up. The doctor says it's just a reflex but I have never heard of any kid doing that before and I work with lots of kids his age. It is getting scary becasue he is doing it a lot when he is sleeping and we are cleaning it up in the middle of the night ( bath, change bedding , etc.) Is this okay?

How long did it take? How old was the first child? Did you or they use any herbs or anything? I'm breastfeeding my 2 month old, but I wanted to TTC #2 soon. I don't want to stop breastfeeding my daughter just to get my cycle back..it's not fair to her. I just want some hope! I want to have her a sibling close in age to her.

My son is 4mos old and the infants are all in their own playpens....the problem is my son is a stomach sleeper, I have tried putting him on his back but he rolls back to his tummy. He can hold his head up very well and can roll both ways....would you be concerned to have your child sleep in a room or would you like them in the daycare owners view?? She has ran it this way for years I guess....

I sometimes notice white stuff on his tongue. I'm assuming it's either leftover milk or that he's got thrush. It gets lighter, but I can't tell if it ever completely goes away. But I have no symptoms, & I've had it before with my daughter, so I know what it feels like. But sometimes I notice the whiteness quite a while after he's nursed. Do I need to try to get him to take a drink of water to rinse his mouth to prevent thrush, if the milk is staying in his mouth that long? That's what my daughter's ped. recommended, but she was quite a bit older (maybe 8 or 9 months?) while my son is only 3 weeks old. Ideas?

my baby is 12 mos old today and i've been doing 1/2 cows milk and 1/2 formula.

when i was giving her 8 oz of formula she would get only 1/2 of the formula to water, so i was giving her 8oz of water to 2 scoops of formula.

also in every bottle she would have 2 tbls of prunes

this is because she could not pass a bowel movement otherwise. so now that i'm switching her i wasn't adding the prunes and she was very constipated and screaming when passing a bowel movement.

should i put prunes in every bottle still? when i go to all whole milk? or should she be ok?

or would rice or soy milk be better? are these less constipating then formula?

I know it sounds absolutely aweful, but to me, only a select few babies actually look cute. (sigh) It seems so strange to me how all the other women my age crowed around a mother's newborn and say, "oh she/he's soooooo cute!" when it looks puffy, unhappy, and hungry. Am I the only one out there with a skeptical baby analyzing complex??

My daughter is 1 and slept through the night from the time she was 2 months until she started crawling. Since then she has not slept through the night and wakes up to 3 times to be fed. we feed her right before she sleeps(usually oatmeal and veggies) and she gets a bottle. She wakes at 10:30, 1am and sometimes 3:30. Any ideas to help ween her from the bottle and to help her sleep throught the night? She usually goes right back to sleep after a feeding. We have never used a pacifier and the only thing that seems to work to quiet her is the bottle. This has been going on for 5 months and we are getting very sleep deprived. Thank you!
