We all know that it is better then formula... so why do formula feeding mothers give thumbs down to breastfeeding mom's for saying this (when they haven't made any rude comments about being better mom's or anything)? Is it because they honestly believe that formula is just as good as breastmilk? Or is it because they're defensive?

For 3 nights now, My son has vomited all of his bottle and more. Its been around the same time every night and after he does it, its like he feels fine and goes back to sleep. He's on Enfamil Lipil with Iron and we thought maybe it was his formula. We use Dr.Browns bottles and they dont seem to be working...air still comes through, so we just bought some playtex drop-ins. Today he's been restless, really fussy and congested. He's usually a VERY good baby, never have i seen him act this way. Any suggestions of what could be wrong?

The past week and a half, she has started eating about 1-2 ounces every...like hour to two hours. Before that, she was eating 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. What do you think I should do? Keep in mind that she's only 5 weeks

start sleeping in their own room right away? Her room is on the other side of the hall because when my nephew moved in ,before I got pregnant, we gave him the room next to ours. I am afraid to have her sleep so far away while she is so young but I dont want to move my nephew because I already think he is jealous of the baby and I dont want him to have to give anything up for her. What should I do?

I'm 20 years old with a 5 month old. When he was first born, i felt like i was tied to him b/c of breastfeeding, did dad could go out and still do things, and i felt like i was stuck at home all the time.. He was a fussy baby so it wasn't easy to take him to friends' house, out to a restaurant, etc.. Now at 5 months i feel like it's SOO much easier. He can stay up for a little longer, it's easier for other people to babysit ( i'm not so paranoid! ) He's more social and easier to understand.. I imagine that once he's crawling, then walking, etc.. it will be even more eaiser to get out of the house, etc..? What's your opinion

My son is 5 1/2 months old, we started giving him breakfast at 4 months and thats all he's had since then.. just breakfast of cereal and fruit..

He was still eating every 3hrs at that age and my pedi. suggested i'd stretch the time to 4 hours. He used to eat 5oz every 3 hrs.. But now, he's eating 8oz every 4.. Since the bottles are only 8oz, thats all i make.. He finishes it to the last drop, so i think he could even take in more..

so since he's been asking for more milk, should i go ahead and add dinner/lunch? Is this him telling me he needs more food?

and he wakes up for a feeding at night also..

How do I make sure that a newly crocheted blanket is sanitary for a new born baby just born today? When I crochet it's hard for the yarn not to get on the floor and my cat wouldn't quit playing with the yarn and walking on it. What do I do to make sure baby don't get sick?

My baby is almost 3 weeks old, and i have been trying to breastfeed him. For 1 day I wasn't able to nurse him alot and I didn't have a breast pump. Since then, I've had a fairly large lump on my breast that hurts alot and feels hot. I've read that it could be mastitis (I hope I spelled that right). Has anyone heard or experienced that before? If that's not it, what else could it be?

He sucks so hard sometimes that it really hurts :( He is 2 weeks old. I read in a La Leche League book that when the baby does this you should unlatch him/her and say "no biting" with a stern voice. I don't want to scare him, & honestly I don't think at 2 weeks-old he would make the connection. My nipples are so sore! Advice?

My 3mo old baby seems to be in a lot of pain when lying on his front, and sometimes just in general. It might just be a squiffy tummy, as he normally struggles to poo, however tonight I have noticed a lump, just under the bottom of his ribcage, about 1cm round. When u lightly put your finger on it it seems to be clicking as he breathes. Is this a normal part of his body that ive just not noticed before or could it be a problem. He has been at his grandparents for the weekend so I cant guarentee he hasnt been injured etc as I havnt been with him. We are taking him to the doctors as soon as it opens in the morning. (its 3am here) Thanks.

My son is 5 1/2 months.. When i eat, he goes crazy asking for something.. we wants whatever i have, i'll try to give him a teething ring, and he won't have that! He's eating breakfast of cereal and fruit, but thats about it.. no lunch or dinner yet..

So is there anything i can give him to chew on, that won't cause him to choke? He's teething, and already got his bottom two, but obviously won't be able to chew whatever he's putting in his mouth.. any ideas?
