How old is the granddaughter? It is probably a new expirience for her and she will get used to it. Don't shave it off if you like it. She will have to get used to beards at some point. Not everyone who holds her will shave their beard. It is very kind of you to offer, though.

Depends on how all she is. Do you see her very often? With little babies they focus so much on the shape of your face that it might freak her out a little because she isn't used to it. She'll get used to it over time and come to associate the beard with you... after that she might freak out even more if you DO shave it.

Well, it depends on how old she is and how she reacts to it.
Because if you shave it off, you're not helping her overcome her fear ... you're not a bad guy under your beard and maybe that will teach her that beards aren't something to be scared of. But if she screams and really freaks out, maybe you should then make sure she sees you grow it back.

You might scare her more by shaving it off since she may not recognize you. My husband shaved his beard off because my son didnt like it and he got even more scared and doesnt recognize him. We think its pretty funny but he must think its terrifying. He's 2 yrs old though...

sure, you can always grow it back when she realizes that you are the same person with or without it.
