I'd like to hear from people who have used a car seat in a 2 door car. I love my car to commute to and from work and it gets great gas mileage and it's paid for so I don't want to get rid of it. I was wondering if anyone had opinions on if they liked a infant carseat or a convertible carseat better. Also, maybe the brand of it? I know the convertible would have to be rear facing until they reach a certain weight. Any suggestions would be great!

And I don't want to hear from people who say, get a 4 door car. We have one but I'd still going to commute in my coupe and I need a carseat to go in it. I'm willing to have 2 carseats so that isn't a problem.

Since all these toys and cribs and stuff like that are getting recalled are there really any toys that are safe for our children? I feel like I cant go and buy my daughter any toys without worrying whether or not it will be recalled.

Is it ok to feed a ten month old shrimp? Tonight is pasta with shrimp for dinner and I don't want to feed anything bad to her, but I would like her to try new things. Can anyone find any literature on this? Thanks! :)

My girlfriend dropped our infant son the other day. She said he was ok so we didn't take him to the doctor. Over the last couple of days I've been noticing that his eyes don't seem to focus or move together. My girlfriend says this is normal in infants and that I just never noticed it before. I'm pretty sure that his eyes worked in unison before the drop. Should I take him to a doctor or is this really normal?

I had a baby on Tuesday and today I started feeling like I had a fever and about an hour ago I started getting chills and shaking like crazy (still am). I also had extreme swelling in my feet prior to delivery and high blood pressure so they suspected Preeclampsia and induced me. The swelling has not gone done at all. Are all of these things normal after childbirth? I've checked my discharge papers and it only says something about calling my doctor if my fever is higher then 101 for more then 24 hours and my fever is only 100.4.

Like, if your husband or boyfriend works.. and you stay at home while he works and you need something for yourself like clothes or something for the house/apartment.. do you ever feel bad he's financially supporting you.
Do you ever need to ask for money?

My baby is 5 months and average size. When I lay him down to sleep on his back he turns over on his stomach, no matter how many times I turn him over on his back he rolls right back over. I tried a sleep positioner and he flops right out then turns over. I dont want him to die from sids and am very worried. Is it ok for him to sleep like this?!

hi we have brought a pram with a carry cot, is it ok to use this instead of a moses basket/crib our daughter hated her crib so she went into cot when she was 3 months but i think it would be nice to get a moses basket but hubby thinks it ok to use carry cot for our baby boy when he is born. or can we put him straight into the cot?
just wondered what others think and their experiences

(we only had cot or crib for daughter as we had travel system for her)

My son is 4 months. He is breastfed all the time except for a bottle here and there at his bedtime (6:30) feeding only. He use to nurse for 15 min or so, but now he has been nursing only 5 min a side or so. I still have milk left, but he isn't interested. Is this normal? Is he getting enough? He seems content enough when he comes off, but his hands do go right into his mouth (as does everything). His output seems fine - 4 -5 wet diapers and a poo everyday. I am just worried about the time he is feeding. Breastfeeding can be very stressful. He is only measuring in the 50th percentile.

Today my 6 month old gave me three kisses! The first time he did it I thought I was just crazy but he was looking at me in the eyes, leaned forward pursed his lips slightly and kissed me two other times right on the mouth at two seperate occassions. Of course I puckered up. It was amazing! I just wonder if it seems very early for him to do this. I dont think my other child gave kisses this early. His birthday is March 13, 2007.

I took him to the doctor today and he has to get some lab work done. By the way he just turned 3 months. For about a week off and on hes had diahrrea, low grade fever, loss of appetite, very cranky, crying all day, chewing on what he can, mucous in his stools, drooling, very fidgity, just cant hold still, and his face he gets really red. He used to have 1-2 stools a day now its 6-8. But today he had 11 stools and very loose, mostly watery. I have never been so freaked out. But we wont know anything until all the tests come back. If hes still like this tomarrow, Im going to take him to the ER. The dr didnt think I needed to until the tests come back. Im giving him pediolite inbetween every feeding and tylenol. The dr said alot of times with mucous in the stools means an infecton. I have no idea whats wrong and I dont know what to do for the poor guy. I feel terrible. I dont think I can wait for the tests. What should I do? Does anyone have an idea what it could be?? Please Help!!
