Newborn & Baby - September 2007

Since he started solids about a month back, he needs water. But he refuses to drink from bottle. I have tried a spoon but he just won't open his mouth. As a result he is mildly constipated. Any ideas?

My baby is 3 months 9 lbs, every night around this time she is VERY cranky. Tonights the worst... I have now given her pain relief drops and gas relief drops. She kicks, screams, seems to be hungry but spits the bottle outta her mouth, she is on a premature infant formula. I dont know what else to do, ive layed her on her tummy, burped her, changed her diaper, held her. I cant think of anything else! Please help!

Im registering for my baby shower online, and was wondering what type or brand of bottles I should use? There are so many different choices, and I have no clue which would be best or what kind pediatricians recommend. Unfortunately, I won't be able to breastfeed due to health issues of my own.
Someone told me to use the kind w/ the little disposable plastic bags to reduce the amount of air the baby takes in.... (?)

my 8 month old will NOT go to sleep...its 12:30 in the morning. i dont know what to do. i gave her a bottle. i put on lavender lotion. i rocked her. i patter her but. i let her cry it out. i gave her a binky. i dont know what to do!!!

My wife and i just brought home our baby boy Aidan from the hospital. We argue about the tempature around the baby, the nursery and our bedroom. She thinks it should be warm which makes it very hard for me cause i can't sleep and when i'm feeding him in the nursery, i start to sweat even wearing just boxers. The thermostat is right between our bedroom and the nursery and it says 82. What is the ideal room tempature. Oh, she also like to swadle him and still place a blanket over him.

my 8 month old daughter was holding onto the lounge, she loves standing and screams if she has to sit or lie down, i was holding onto her, but then she turned around and grabbed the heater ( it wasn't on thank God) and started falling, I grabbed her to stop her falling, but she was still holding onto the heater and smacked it into her head, she ended up with a little mark and a small bump. I know kids always hurt themselves, but this is the first time my bubba has gotten a "sore", I feel so guilty and like such a bad mum, I love her more than anything. Am I just being a normal mum, I rang my partner at work, I was crying and telling him what happened, he said to relax and she'd be fine and to settle down.

Im desperate!!!!!!! this is driving me crazy!!!! any little noise wakes her up! i cant stand it anymore. i cant do anything while shes asleep cuz if i do she'll wake up. i know she's not used to noise cuz my house is quiet most of the time, but its just going overboard with this girl. she's the only baby i know of that wont sleep through noise. stop eating because of the danger of choking,my mother gets hiccups sometimes and im afraid that she ll choke on her food,i say yes,and my parents say no,in fact my mother doesnt like the idea that i mention this and my father thinks im vindictive to say that.whos right?

I have twin daughters, 4 months old, but they were born 3 months premature, so they are developmentally only 1 month old. In the hospital, we carried constantly as it was strongly encouraged to help both the babies and the parents. Now, they are nightmares at home! They want to be carried all the time and rebel when I put then in the bouncer or swing. The minute I carry them, the screaming stops. Sometimes I don't even eat because I am carrying at least one of them constantly. Any suggestions? HELP!

ok i have a six week old baby and she is fine and calm day and night when i hold her or when we lay down to go to sleep and she is next to me. i try to put her in the bassinet so i can cook or clean and she crys. at night the same thing, she stops once i pick her up and rock her. why does she do that? also some days she eats four to five ounces of formula every couple hours and burps good and other days she trys to eat the same and burps but throws some up why? and one more thing do fussy babys ever stop being so fussy? thanks for any help

10 month old on Ammoxicilian for 7 days now her has a fever?
My 10 month old son was seen at the Dr. on the 18th for a runny nose, the Dr. found that he had an ear infection while we were there. He perscribed Ammoxicilian and he has been taking it since the 19th (haven't scipped a dose). Yesterday the 25th he got a 101.6 fever and today he still has it, he is not to interested in eating, but does drink his bottles. Is this normal? Or am I being and anxious mom?

We went to the doctor and he said that his ears look fine, all he did was change his meds to cefdinir??? his temp in his ear is 101.6 and i took a rectal with a new thermomiter and it said 103.8. I am really scared what could be causing his fever? He does have green mucus coming out of his nose. Please someone answer...

I am pregnant with baby number 3 ..I successfully breastfed my first child but the second one I had no milk! I am wondering should I take reglan weeks before I have the baby ..has anyone else had this happen to them...I tryed for 2 months and worked with a lactation consultant but no matter what my milk was extremely low while the first child I had an extremely abundant supply

Sorry, but Im a first time mum! My baby goes down at around 8.30 after a 240ml feed. She wakes up at 3am but goes off to sleep after 10 mins. She wakes properly at around 6am and I give her a morning feed. Now, I thought she was just waking because of her reflux but someones told me it is because she wants another feed. Im feeling really guilty now because I don't feed her at 3am, purely because I thought it was her reflux waking her, but now Im not so sure. My questionis - can a 4 month old last between 8pm - 6am with out a feed or should I be feeding her?? No rude answers please, Im learning like any other first timer!
