Yes. Most babies have a hard time seeing things up close, but are very sensitive to loud noises and bright lights. You have to remember he's been in that tight, dark, quiet belly of yours for nine months, so it takes quite awhile. Not only that, but babies eyesight is much different than adults and children. It develops slowly and in stages.

Very normal... all babies are very sensitive to light and loud noises. I remember taking my newborn outside and her whole little face would squinch up and she would close her eyes. As your baby gets older he/she will adjust and grow out of it. My baby girl now loves being outside, sometimes that is the only way to calm her down!

yes i understand what u mean,, ive got 4 kids and must have amnesia for the 1st three, but i remember clearly my youngest being sensitive to and light at all, mainly sunlight [bub is now 9mths]
for the first 2 months or so, she would close her eyes or squint even if she wasnt in direct sunlight, just being outdoors she would keep her eyes shut, i was stressin real bad, my freinds baby was a month older than mine but she said her baby hardly ever did it, which scared me more
anyway, its cos shes still little and her eyes have been in darkness in your uterus for 9mths, no wonder why they hate the light
but as u gradually expose them to it , a bit at a time, youll see it will dissapear,,, good luck and relax xxxxxxxxxx

edit, one thing i remember is, she would stare at light bulbs though, lol she liked them!

Yes, and it's very normal. Encased inside is pretty dark, their little eyes have to get used to the harshness of even the softest of bulbs. Don't worry, it's perfectly fine.

yep. it's normal. they will grow out of it. they were in a dark uterus for 9 months, so they need time to adjust.
