Both my daughter and son slept in a travel crib in our bedroom until about 4 months old and then into a crib in their own room. we moved my daughter from her crib into a toddler bed when she was a little over 2 years old. As long as your baby is in a safe environment I'd give him a few more days to get used to it. If he still doesn't like it, maybe move him back to his old bed and try again in a couple weeks.

3 - 4 months. Also because the carry cot/cradle was getting too small! Actually I found that I was unsettled the first night or two, more than the baby, because the big cot was in the next room instead of ours, and inspite of the baby monitor I felt separation anxiety! However, my son is now 18, sleeps in his own bed in his own room, and is fine!

I am a Director of a Day Care Center. Children that young aren't moved to a cot until 2yrs of age. They are older and ready for change. Because they are more curious. You sound like a mother that is very concerned about your child's feelings. You might suggest on putting your baby back into his crib until he's older and want to "explore". Have a nice day!

I coslept with my daughter until she was 3 months old. She then moved to a bassinet at the foot of our bed for the next month. She slept in a playpen until she was 6 months, and she has been sleeping in her full-size crib since then. She's 16 1/2 months now.

My son outgrew his moses basket at 5 months and I tried transferring him to his big cot but he hated it! As a result he's cosleeping with us. But thats OK as I do beleive in co sleeping for at least the first year (we only used the moses basket when he was tiny because I was worried about the dangers of co sleeping with a tiny baby).

With my first child he slept in his basket till he was one mth old, then he went in 2 a cot until he was 12mths then he went into a bed. With my daughter she went in her cot from day one and is still in it at 14mths we are currently changing her over to a bed as hers is a cot/bed. I do think you know yourself when your child is ready and don't let anybody tell you any different. The midwife and health visitor don't always know best, they sometimes just put you on edge, your child will be ready when they are ready and not before, just take your time.
