I used to cook things and mash them myself...20years ago. Now I have a daycare, and my moms are so happy that I make baby food for their kids......I use the Magic Bullet from t.v.. It is awesome!!
Good Luck

We have a little food processor from Black and Decker- we used it all the time- it is 11 years old- has a new blade for the baby food since our 2 are 10 years apart- and still runs like new! Highly recommend it. Easy to clean too!

I use a stick blender to puree all my baby food. It's all one piece, so you don't have to take anything apart to wash it and then try to figure out how to put it all back together again. To wash it I just leave it plugged it and run it in a cup with soapy water, then rinse it--super easy and takes about 5 seconds. Here's the one I have, you can definitely spend more or less http://www.amazon.com/Braun-MR430HC-Multiquick-Blender-Chopper/dp/B00004S9GX/ref=pd_bbs_2/104-5706726-4836728?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1190854009&sr=8-2
and when you're done making baby food you can use it to make smoothies or milkshakes too.

honestly, black and decker makes a mini food processor. it is in the appliance dept at the store. it is under 20$ and will chop, mash, puree anything. i used it ALL the time. all the pieces are washable (hand or dishwasher) and easy to use, small and powerful

If you have a good blender or food processor they will work as well depending on the age of your baby.
