Check with the leasing company...since you are room-mates and not married, they may or may not allow you to break the lease. Or you could talk to your room-mate and see if she can start looking for a replacement for you. Tell her straight up that you're pregnant and that you don't want to stay there with the cats. Cat litter carries bacteria that can cause you problems....so it might be an easy out for you.

Good luck.

The majority of landlords will let one person off there lease if two people are signed. If you feel it is an unhealthy situation (which it most definatly is) you should speak to the landlord and let them know your reasons. You should not be forced to reside somewhere that posts danger to your health. Regardless.

Are you on the lease, or are you subleting? if you are on the lease, speak to the landlord, I wouldn't mention the cats, Just ask if you can be taken off the lease because of personal reasons, they might let you out of it.

Not likely, and even though they are her cats, since both of your names are on the lease you will BOTH lose the damage deposit because it will cost the landlord several thousands of dollars to replace the carpet, prime and paint the walls in order to get rid of the cat smell.

there are doors that are closable adn about the food you should learn how to put it away and let her know that she needs to do something with those cats or youll call animal control on them hehehhe! but i suggest you let her know first and then think about moving out especially if its under your name or you should kick her out and get a new roomate
