Having the babies this close together means everybody is going to be in diapers together for a long time.
Too, it means your son won't be mature enough to understand it is not okay to pound on baby #2 and he is going to be bigger and stronger (meaning he can do some damage if he wants to do so.)
It means splitting time between children who both deserve your focus. If you handle stress well, if you are healthy and good at multi-tasking, it's worth considering.
If your age and health aren't problems, spreading them a little further apart will mean you can really focus on each of them when they are babies and toddlers. (I found the toddler stage the most dangerous--the kids were into everything and didn't have the language skills or the memory to understand they were NOT allowed to pester the dog, strip and run out the door, climb the bookcase, eat bugs, and ...you get the drift.)
Finally, once a toddler can talk, he gets a little more independent and having a sibling isn't such a threat to their mommy time. They are big enough to be some help by bringing you a diaper or toy, and they can take some ownership interest in "their" baby. (And don't forget, spacing them a little further apart gives you a little more time to save for college, etc. down the road.)

January would be okay to start trying. I have a 22 month old girl and a 2 month old baby girl they are about 1-1/2 apart its kinda hard having 2 in diapers but they will be close!
GOOD LUCK!!

My baby is 3 months old and I want to start trying for another when she is one year old, although I'm not entirely sure of it yet. There is a plus side of having your kids in diapers at the same time, it means that you dont have to go through this: "just as one is out of diapers, I have to go through it all over again." Just get it over and done with. Also siblings are great and when they get older they can occupy eachother and you will not have to worry about keeping them entertained all the time because they will have eachother to play with and experience life with. I think it's going to be hard work but I think its magical and will be great!

I think January would be a good time to start trying again. I have 1 child and pregnant again and they will be about 10-11 months apart.

If you feel ready, then go for it! My son is 10 months old and I am already getting the feeling that I may want to try for another soon. My sons are a little less than 3 years apart, and that was just a bit too long for me. Ideally I wanted them closer, we were actively trying when my eldest turned one, but it took us a while to conceive.

Think of the stresses one infant puts on you and then multiply that by how many children you think you want. I'm nolt trying to be mean, just realistic. I have 3 kids and one step. Ages are 11, 6, 5, and 2.

Why not? i've always seen that siblings that are close in age, get along much better as they grow older. It will be hard on you because you won't transition from the diaper stage soon, but in the long run it can be worth it. good luck.

I have stepsons that are 18 months apart (yes they live with me) Me, personally, I would want one out of diapers before I had another one. its expensive to care for one baby but imagine buying double....just a thought though....
