alright i pretty much asked this last night but it was late and didn't get many reponses. my fiance may be having his daughter every other weekend or for two weeks at a time (which we would prefer that way we will see her more) anyways i'm having a baby in the winter and we already have his stuff plus we have a shower coming up for him. so all of his stuff will be new and some of it is expensive. of course we will have to buy her stuff and i'm really looking forward to it, but is it ok if the stuff we buy her is a little cheaper? most of my son's stuff was presents and we can't afford to keep up with what people bought him because it was expensive. they are both babies. his crib and bedding is new but a friend offered to give us theirs 9they are done having kids) so we will only have to get her a crib and a few other things. it is alright to spend less money since we don't really have enough to buy her an expensive $400 crib? they will be sharing toys plus each have their own.

My 12 month old is waking up several times a night crying hard. It's not like she wakes up, looks around, and then starts crying, she comes out of a dead sleep crying. All it takes is for me to whisper to her or hug her and she goes right back to sleep like nothing happened. What could be causing this and is there any fix for it or is it just a phase? I refuse to let her cry herself back to sleep, she is obviously upset about something. I have heard of night terrors, is that what this is?

I have just started my 8 month old on a schedule due to school and work going on in the house she needs a more of a schedule now. But the thing I'm having an issue with is I put her down for 2 1.5 hour naps do I start timing the naps from the time I lay her down even if she is not asleep or do I wait till she falls asleep and start timing. Like right now she is just playing in her crib. Is quite time as good as a nap at that age

My 2 mnth old son has been very fussy lately and me and my husband have no idea why. Last night we looked at his eyes and his left one is noticibly (sp) huge compared to the right eye. Is this anything i should be worried about? I did bring it up to my doctor and he said it may be dry skin but he was not sure what it was.

okay, well my mom has always acted uncomfortable/nervous when talking about my birth, and never would go into detail like she did with my siblings births so i had an underlying worry that i was adopted or something. so one day as my mom was talking about how when my brother was born and she didnt like the docter and i asked her about my birth my mom just simply told me "it was fine" but i kept on pestering her despite her attempants to change the subject. SO finally she said "I dont remember! it was like i was in a trance, i dont remember the nurses faces or the doctor all i remembered was when i held you in my arms" I had a feeling that she didnt feel anything either (pain or anything) Also she said what surprised the nurses the most was that i was born with Brown eyes, not blue. I dont know somehow i have a feeling that my mothers trance and my uncommon baby brown eyes are related somehow? anyways i stopped pestering her after that, obviously the trance thing made her wary.Anyways

How is your experience in letting your child be awake to fall alseep in the crib and not you rocking him/her?

My son does a great job at falling asleep. He will coo for a min or two, then lay there with his eyes open and then fall sleep in a few. I just walk away and peek to check on him.

How are your experiences?

my second cousin is turning 1, and my family is basically just having a cookout.

what's a good present for him? Nothing super expensive, i'd say like $20 bucks and under.

He's basically just learning to walk, can't talk yet, etc. You probably know that but just saying haha.

I would like to start her on Gerber baby foods stage one, like applesauce, peas, sweet potatoes, etc..I have heard that I am suppose ot start w/yellow veggies first? Can anyone tell me, is there truth to this? And if not, what should i give her first, and how do I prepare it?

I believe my wife may be suffering from depression and/or hormonal imbalance. Although we have stressful and busy lives, I don't think this accounts for the extreme mood swings and absent sex drive. We were discussing the lack of sex in our marriage when I brought this up, and she got furious, said I was shifting the blame away from myself, and would't talk to me for a couple days. This has gone on since she got pregnant with our son (now 1) and I really think things could possibly improve with treatment, but I don't know how to approach this successfully. (I'm doing as much dish washing, diaper changing, and laundry folding as I possibly can, please no suggestions that I help around the house.) I need help, divorce is looming on the horizon.

My grandma, who is almost 70 years old, saw my son last night for the first time. He's 2 months and 1 week old. She asked if he was eating 3 meals a day yet! I was like, woah, what do you mean he's only 2 months. She had 5 children, my mom being 1 of them, and said that up until her last son which wasn't born until 1980 she fed all her children baby food from the jar starting at 2 months old and all of them were eating 3 solid meals a day in addition to the bottle! I asked her if she was sure and she said she's positive it was 2 months old because they were hungry and bottles weren't enough. She said they had absolutely no foods issues growing up and all are healthy adults now. She said she didn't do that with her last son because by the time he was born in 1980 there was a big hype about babies not eating until 6 months and she couldn't understand that. Also, that specific son was more skinny and tinier than the rest of her children. Why do they pound it into your head...

My baby hair is thinning all over his head, not to mention the big half dollar sized bald spot on the back of his head where he laid so much I guess it all just rubbed off..... but how come the rest of his hair is thinning? Is he not getting enough nutrition? Is this a bad sign? Could it be linked to cancer? He is only 6 months....is it normal for his head all over to be thinning? Its not bald but just thinning, anything he lays on his hair is all over it, please help?

I am dilated 2 centimeters, 80% effaced, baby is at a -1 station. Had contractions on Friday morning at 17 mins apart and got to 12 mins apart. Thankfully was able to get some sleep. Since then I have been more uncomfortable than I have ever been in my life. I can barely get out of bed without being in excruciating pain. I can hardly walk at all. And I am having cramps worse than any period I have ever had. Contractions right now are not on a set pattern. I was just wondering is all of this miserablness normal? I have not felt this terrible ever.

Lost mucous plug a week and a half ago.

Have had several bowel movements this morning already.
