My almost four month old son (who was 4 weeks early) goes to bed anywhere between 7:00 and 7:30pm. He wakes every three to four hours to nurse (which is absolutely wonderful since he was on a 1 1/2 hr. schedule for the first three months, he's tripled his birth weight!) Although he wakes to feed, he never opens his eyes. Thank goodness for me, I've never had to try to put him back to sleep in the middle of the night. He will sleep for 12 hours (not counting his 2-3 wakings for feeding). Exactly two hours after waking in the morning, he's rubbing his eyes and ready for a nap. I put him down in his crib, turn on his lullaby bear and he falls asleep. The thing is, he wakes up 30-40 minutes later everytime! He'll nap at around Noon again, then around 3pm. At 6pm he's tired and we go through our bedtime routine. He's a very happy baby, alert, smiles all the time. I'm just wondering if he's getting enough sleep for his brain. He is a little behind schedule with milestones. Thanks!

My baby girl will be turning 4 months next week, and I am worried about not producing enough milk for her. Is there a safe way to increase my supply? Are there any vitamins or supplements you might recommend?

The nine month old I watch has occasional nightmares, they happen every few months and result in a few days of grumpy. Well, he had one last night and since then has woken up and cried...he wont go to sleep and only seems happy in the tub, but I do not think it wise to keep a baby in the bathtub all day. He is also teething, I have given him teething medicine, tylenol, and all variety of chew-stuffs, and also let him cuddle in his favorite soft blankey of mine. Everything I try helps for a short while but then he gets upset and fights sleep again! In about 6 hours he will have been mostly awake and fussy for a full 24 hours...I know this isnt the first time he has done this and his mom has spoken to his pediatrician and all they say to do is get by until he is better, call if things dont improve in a few days. What can I do to help settle him down and make him feel better?

I noticed this morning that one breast was a little painful it felt similar to the engourgement feeling but it actually got worse as she nursed.

Now it is very painful and throbing and even my bra touching me makes it worse. When I have let down it hurts so much I feel like crying.

Is this mastits? My baby is 8 weeks old and although I nursed my older two children I never had this issue.

What can I do to help? Warm compress? Thank you,

I am almost 40 weeks pregnant, and due to some financial and health problems, we're just now getting around to finishing the nursery. My question is this...since the baby will be here VERY soon, is it safe to paint the nursery now, or will there still be harmful paint chemicals floating around in the air when the baby arrives in a few days?

He'll be sleeping in my room in the bassinett for quite a while, but will it be safe to take him in the nursery just to use the changing table?

I'm just curious, I've heard that sometimes even if you can't smell the fumes, paint can still be toxic for quite some time after it dries.

Hope this isn't a stupid question. :)

My son is 7 1/2 months now. I gave him expressed BM since he was 3 weeks old. Right now, I want to stop pumping and give him formula. But he hate the taste and the smell of it. He throw up everytime I put the formula near him. I tried mixing it with oatmeal and he throw that up, too. Any suggestion? Thanks!

I have a 2 year old and he has symptoms. Maybe they didnt find it when he was a baby or could it be something else? His dad had it when he was a baby and he had the surgery.

We are moving in about 2 months. My baby has just turned 5 months...and i wasn't expecting him to crawl! But today I was sitting in a beanbag reading while he was playing with a toy phone...to my surprise...he grabbed my foot. He had mysteriously gotten himself 10ft across the lounge floor. Surprised, i watched him do it again...he plants his face flat on the floor and pushes his feet out...his bum rides up in the air and he goes forward maybe an inch at a time?

I dont know how long it'll take before he's crawling properly...he's pretty strong though!

Nevertheeless...I have a mound of babyproofing to do! Anyone got any helpful advice? We don't have stairs...what we do have is a LOT of cables that need to be there...and i don't know what to do with them!

my baby sister just got home from the hospital and they only gave us 2 formula milk bottle, each is 50 ounces....but my sister drank them fast. Unfortunately, my mom couldnt breastfeed at the moment cause there is only little amount of milk come out even when she try to squeeze it. Plus, she just tied her tube today so she couldnt do anything even holding the baby. Im really worry because my sister kept crying but there is nothing left to eat at the moment and maybe a whole day tomorrow. Please help me w/ some suggestions!

I have a 3 week old that I am nursing. He usually goes to bed around 11 after eating and will sleep in his bed until 2 or 3 in the morning and then he wakes up and eats. After he eats that feeding he will not sleep in his own bed. His bed is in my room but he will not go back to sleep unless he is sleeping next to me. I don't mind it except my husband is clueless about the baby being in the bed so I have to sleep on one side and keep him next to me at the edge of the bed and holding on to him. I don't know how to get him to go back to sleep or keep sleeping in his bed. I don't sleep well when he is with me for fear of rolling on him, or covering him with my blankets and having something bad happen. I also have a two year old who won't let me sleep in and I am very exhausted and looking for tips. Any Ideas are really appreciated!!!

My way of dealing with the whole thing has pretty much been simply not thinking about it. However, at 39 weeks...the time is nearing. i am beginning to fear the pain and process and I was wondering for other women when this fear, if ever, developed? was it before the whole thing got under way, on the way to the hospital, laying in your hospital bed? how did you deal with it?

My daughter is now 3 weeks old and I have been pumping to give her only breast milk. I am worried that as she gets bigger and her appetite grows I won't know how to increase it and will end up having to supplement formula. This is something I do not want to do! Right now I am pumping every 2 hours and I pump untill my breasts r completley empty plus two minutes I get about 2 ounces out of each breast. How do I increase it when I need to? Also what is the best way to stimulate let down? Also is stimulating a let down in between pumping a good idea or will I just lose milk this way? I hope someone can help me!!! Thank you

My daughter will be 10 weeks on Tuesday. The flu has been going around and almost everyone in the family has gotten it. I took her temp yesterday and it came back as 100.2 that was her rectal temp. She has been eating more often then normal. I took her temp today and it was 101.3 and that was also her rectal temp. She also has been sleeping a little more then usual. Could she get the flu already at such a young age? What signs should I be watching gor if she can get it?
