That baby is too young for anything more than breastmilk/formula. You should not give juice until at least 6-8 months. And you should make sure it is 100% juice, and dilute it with water. A baby should not have more than 4-6 oz of juice in a day.

Juice really isn't as healthy and nutritious as you might think. The sugar in it, even though it is natural sugar, can interfere with the consumption of enough solid food and can lead to tooth decay. It fills up tiny tummies and gives a false sense of full-ness. At 4 months, your daughter should be receiving most, if not all of her nutrition from breast milk or formula. If she has been started on solids, this is strictly a supplement to the breast millk/formula. Juice is not generally recommended until around 7-9 months and is best served in a cup, diluted at least 1/2 water and 1/2 juice with a limit of 4 ounces of juice per day. I have been a mom for 28 years. I have 4 kids, ages 28, 25, 22, and 10. I also have provided child care in my home for 20 years. Many children, my own kids included, become little "juice-a-holics", not able to go anywhere without a sippy cup of juice. I suggest you hold off on the juice for a few more months until your daughter is sitting up well and able to drink from a cup. Then, you can give a little juice with a snack or a meal. In the long run, the actual whole fruit is a much better choice than juice. When it's time, apple and white grape are common first juices. There are many flavors of baby juice in the grocery store. All are fine for baby but it is cheaper by the ounce to buy regular juice and dilute it by 1/2 - 3/4 with water. 100% juice is better than the many fruit drinks on the market. I highly suggest not giving her juice quite yet and when you do, give it to her on a limited basis.

Why give juice? It is unnecessary fluids and sugars. It has little to no nutritional value at all. I would not give juice until 12 months, if at all. I suggest nothing but breast milk/formula for fluids until a year, and then introduce water if you wish. But juice is just unnecessary and an unhealthy habit to start.

At four months old your baby definitely does not need juice of any kind. Just formula or breastmilk at this time, and possibly small sips of water (no more than an ounce or two) to get her used it. Juice is primarily sugar and it won't meet her nutritional needs so just skip it for now.

Definitely no juice. She will stay hydrated with formula/breast milk. Don't try it until she's at least one year old and even then, mix 1/4 juice with 3/4 water. Use a juice made for toddlers (e.g., Gerber) as they usually have less sugar.

I have always understood that 4 months is really too young for juice, that they need to get as much nutrition as possible from breast milk or formula. The first juice, I believe, is grape. Check with your pediatrcian before adding juice.

Your baby does not need juice so hold off. Neither of my kids drank juice. My daughter now 3 will rarely ever have it. My kids drink water and milk.

None. She only needs formula or breast milk at this age. Her stomach is 2 immature to digest juice. Juice is like junk food to babies and toddlers. Its not really nutritious.

None, sorry, she is too young. 9 months is the youngest you should give any juice, even then, it needs to be mostly water.

you should probably wait another month. then start out with apple juice. it is easier on their tummies. if you buy the regular kind do half water and half juice and mix. if you get the baby kind you don't have to do that it is already mixed with water.
