I have a 2 year old and he has symptoms. Maybe they didnt find it when he was a baby or could it be something else? His dad had it when he was a baby and he had the surgery.

If your child is growing and gaining normally, the likelihood of pyloric stenosis is minimal. The oldest I ever saw was a six month old with failure to thrive.

Projectile vomiting from a virus or food poisoning is usually short lived. If it persists you must suspect a serious head injury or an obstruction of the stomach outlet. There are other caues, all usually serious. If this is an ongoing problem, your child needs thorough evaluation, soon.

Pyloric stenosis does run in families, but I don't think this is it in your two year old.

A variety of things can cause similar symptoms. Have your child checked out at a children's hospital if you feel your doctor isn't addressing the problem. Second opinions are common.
