My 2 mnth old son has been very fussy lately and me and my husband have no idea why. Last night we looked at his eyes and his left one is noticibly (sp) huge compared to the right eye. Is this anything i should be worried about? I did bring it up to my doctor and he said it may be dry skin but he was not sure what it was.

maybe it is a clogged tear duck? My daughter had that but she was only a few weeks old. Try a warm compresses and Tuesday go back to the doc. Good luck!

Do you mean that the eyelids are puffy and swollen, or does it appear that the left eyeball itself is protruding? Either could be serious, but the second instance more so. It would be unwise to speculate on possible causes with the information at hand. Nevertheless, you need to have your 2 month old re-examined.

Try Lauren's suggestion. As she said, it could be a clogged tear duct.

It could also be allergies. If Lauren's suggestion doesn't help, you could try some Dimetapp.

I'm not impressed with your doctor's answer, but then he wasn't looking at it in person. If it's not clear by Thursday, call and make an appointment for the doctor to see him on Friday.

Is there any discharge or redness? Keep an eye on it, sorry, couldn't resist the pun, and call that doc back at the first sign of trouble. Trust your gut instinct, better to worry and be safe than to just hope it gets better. Neurotic mom, KrisR

Your doctor should not be leaving things at that. If there is something going on he needs to find an answer or refer you to a specialist.

I suggest you seek a second opinion. Your son could have conjunctivitis and it can be dangerous if left untreated.

Your doctor doesn't sound too bright. At 2 months old, your son is helpless and needs you to get him to a competent doctor asap.

Wow, that sounds a bit scary, I think you should definitely get a second opinion, you don't want to take any risks with eyes.
