my daughter was 7 months old when she got an upper respiratory infection i found this out after fourth hospital her temp would stay between 101 and some times got up to 105 some doctors said babies temp will fluctuate alot but just like you i was worried all the time hence it took 4 hospitals to find out that she had upper respiratory infection but the last doctor told me to give BABY Motrin to her to bring her temp down some it still didn't fall to normal range but i felt better about it my suggestion is ask doctor what kind of medicine you can safely give him to bring his temp back down. P.S. my Lil girl got sick from my nieces have R.S.V almost the same thing. The babies own physician said that her temp was fine as long as she (doctor ) knew what was causing it. we switched doctors. just remember babies immune system is still developing the least Lil germ can cause a fever my baby is 16 months now and every now and again she will get a fever. i know it impossible not to worry.PS every time she gets her shots i give BABY Tylenol if i don't she gets a fever sorry for the babbling on and on . hope this helps

Alternate tylenol and mortin, and give him pedialyte. At 10 months old, he can take it. It will keep him hydrated. With a fever he can lose it quickly. So keep giving him fliuds. If the fever is a sudden thing, get him to the doctor cause he may be allergic to the meds. If it has been going on since the sickness started, he'll be fine. I always do my kids temp in their armpit. Add a degree when you do this. As long as the temp doesn't get to 104 and won't go down, don't worry. Sometimes with viruses, and such, a fever can last 3-4-5 days. Keep an eye on it, keep giving room temp baths, and dress lightly. Fever is also a good thing sometimes. It is the bodies way of fighting an infection, and with green mucus, it does sound like one.

Poor baby! If you are keeping an eye on him and taking him to the doctor, then he should be fine. Sounds like a sinus infection. If you're concerned, keep calling the doctor! A mother can never be too worried about a sick baby! Another way to help the fever go down is to undress the baby and give him a bath. It worked for all my kids. You're in my prayers.

I replied to you earlier today.
You didnt mention the snotty nose.
Its common for a child get a cold or virus when on antibiotics because they attack the immune system. Antibiotics do NOT treat viruses, and since the immune system is weakened by their use colds are normal.
A fever of 103.8 in the bum is not a high fever, you take a point away for rectals. Babies can have fevers up to 104 before you go to the hospital.
Roseola is going around right now, its a common infant virus, they get it once and its over. Its noted by a fever and appears out of no where, gets very high, dwindles for a day or so, and then disappears and in a few hours the child is covered in a rash. A slight cold like symptom is another symptom.
Give plenty of bottles in the stead of solids, and wait for the fever to break. Obviously you want to keep tylenol in him, alternate it with ibuprophin.

Sounds like he has a virus. Meds are for the secondary bacterial infection (his nose colour discharge is evidence of that). Temp sound s high - frightening I know. He's drinking - very important. You have taken him to the Doc. Keep him as cool as possible. Don't wrap up. Tepid sponging will help it down a little bit. Try not to worry. (Silly remark). Kids are much more resilient than we think. Different thermometers do give different readings.

Get him to wellness midsection as quickly as achieveable, a fever this severe has the flexibility to break inner organs. yet once you won't have the capacity to, placed him right into a funky bath ASAP, no longer a chilly, chilly can deliver his physique into marvel, carry his temperature down as much as achieveable. provide him toddler ibuprofen, and four hours later, provide him toddler paracetamol. you need to maintain up with the antibiotic, if it ability keeping him down and stress feeding him, then do it, it rather is for his very own sturdy, and a undesirable style for 30 seconds 3-4 cases an afternoon is a hell of lots better than a stay in wellness midsection with an IV in his arm for the antibiotics or therapy for acute kidney failure. combating the meds a million/2 way by way of will in basic terms go away the better, greater resistant bugs there, and it will make it lots greater problematic to do away with this ailment.

i was told if the child has a temperature of 104 and above to take them to the emergency room if you can't take him/her to their pediatrician. if your baby isn't eating and his temperature keeps going up you should take him to the hospital.
