Is it ok to feed a ten month old shrimp? Tonight is pasta with shrimp for dinner and I don't want to feed anything bad to her, but I would like her to try new things. Can anyone find any literature on this? Thanks! :)

That's what I guessed, but I wasn't sure if shrimp were considered shellfish. I don't eat much seafood, so there you go lol. :) Thanks all!

People should not have any kind of seafood until they are 4 years old. Especially shell fish and wild fish (fish that do not come from a fish farm). This is because it could contain mercury which their systems cannot handle yet.

From my understanding you don't give any seafood until the child is at least 12 months old due to the risk of allergies

There are contaminents in seafood. Also you never see any seafood baby foods in the stores so thats a good sign that its probably not a good idea.

Shellfish allergies can be extreme, so this could be fatal if she happened to be allergic. Feed her something else instead.

NO. A child Should NOT have table food until 1 yr old. And there are certain foods that could cause allergic reacations & doctors recommend they do not have them until they are older, such as peanuts. Talk to your OB, they can give you a list of what foods to hold out on & until what age.
