I had PIH and preeclampsia and I also ended up with an infection after my water was broke because they waited too long. So I kind of had a similar situation. My swelling was terrible too and I waited and waited and it did not go away until at least a week after I was discharged (which was almost 4 days after delivery). I still think you should call about the fever thing. I did not feel any shakes or chills other than after the anesthesia wore off, so this is definitely a cause for concern.
If you were spilling proteins in your urine before delivery you can still be battling preeclampsia which is a very serious issue so I would definitely go in and see someone as soon as possible so they can make sure you are okay, as well as check your BP and make sure it has all come down okay. You wouldn't want to have a seizure or anything which can still happen even after your baby is born. Good Luck.

Call your dr. This isn't usual. I was in the same shoes, induced, and I lost all my water while still in the hospital. I went potty and I'm not kidding you, I peed, and peed--felt like 5 gals. By the time I left the hosp. 5 days it was mostly gone.
Are you on an antibiotic? Because this kind of sounds like an episiotomy infection?
Your dr. was paid a pretty penny to take care of you before, during and after your baby's birth. Call him and make him earn his money by telling you there's nothing to worry about or telling you he'll call in an RX antibiotic.

Mine are 17 and 21 now
Congratulations!!
P.S. Potassium takes swelling down. So eat a couple of bananas for the next few days and see if it helps.

Call the doc or a health line...
I don't have a clue what's going on with you specifically, but the only time I experienced chills and shaky fever that soon after post-partum is when I had mastitis.
I don't know when the swelling is supposed to go down - my right ankle swelled up quite big after delivery, and went down in a few hours.
It won't hurt to call. Better safe than sorry. They won't mind.

It sounds like you may have mastitis?
In any case fever and chills are not normal that long after childbirth, sometimes you will get that way immediately after childbirth. Also swelling can happen within the first few days but I would think it shouldn't start this late. Mine only lasted a few days, it is just the excessive fluids your body needs during pregnancy.
In any case I would assume you are sick, whether it is just a cold or something else I can't really say.

Call your doctor- even thought the fever isn't the requirement- call. It's not normal- with 3 and with breastfeeding that never happened.
Good luck to you and congrats. I hope you are feeling better really soon. It is not fun recouperating, but much less so with illness.
Take good care!

The fever and chills worries me. I would call your doctor and ask what they want you to do. You might have an infection. It is not normal. It doesn't have anything to do with breastfeeding. You might even want to call the hospital and ask what they recommend. Congratulations and good luck with your new one.

You should be having some relief from the swelling right now - you sound like you are still very sick. Go back to the hospital with your infant (the baby will room in so you can breast feed), and get checked in.

Call, better safe than sorry, and he should know about any leg swelling and chills. He won't be mad, and if he is, hes not a good doctor.

If you are having pain with bf it could be the beginning of a breast infection. Or it could just be your body healing from birth stuff. If it continues, call dr. Infection would likely be in breast or uterus, and neither would be good left untreated asap.
