My 3mo old baby seems to be in a lot of pain when lying on his front, and sometimes just in general. It might just be a squiffy tummy, as he normally struggles to poo, however tonight I have noticed a lump, just under the bottom of his ribcage, about 1cm round. When u lightly put your finger on it it seems to be clicking as he breathes. Is this a normal part of his body that ive just not noticed before or could it be a problem. He has been at his grandparents for the weekend so I cant guarentee he hasnt been injured etc as I havnt been with him. We are taking him to the doctors as soon as it opens in the morning. (its 3am here) Thanks.

If he has trouble breathing or seems in extreme distress, or if he looks gray and listless, take him to the ER immediately.

If he seems basically ok, then get him into the doctor FIRST thing in the morning. Don't worry about an appointment, just be there between 8:30 and 9am

My son had a lump, but no clicking sound or loose spots. He's sustained some kind of injury. Once you know how serious his injury, then you need to go back and find out what happened to him.

Does he throw up forcefully? One symptom of pyloric stenosis is a small grape sized mass between the sternum and the belly button. If he has'nt vomited forcefully I would'nt worry about this being the case. The Doctor will do some test and let you know for sure.

LIKE THEY SAID GO GET HIM LOOKED AT BY HIS PEDS DOC !!!
when my 2 and a half old was around your baby's age she had a lump on her sternum for months i watched it to see if it would go away , it didn't seem to bother her but it was bothering me ! it was removed by a bone specialist . it was some sort of a syst. she is fine they said it should NOT grow back . i made a appointment before, to ask the nurses and the ped what they think of it NOTHING so, i went for a second opinion and she had the surgery at 9 mo's old. NOT SAYING THAT THAT'S WHAT IT WOULD BE because eveybody is different.

have you ever been having issues? Seeing stars? issues respiration? In my thirty 5th week of being pregnant, I went to the healthcare professional for a popular examine up and found out I had toxemia/pre-eclempsia. i did no longer comprehend those indicators (plus soreness in rib cage) have been appropriate to that. I basically theory it become portion of being pregnant. Do you have any swelling? it fairly is nicely worth getting your blood stress checked, and whether it fairly is abnormally severe, then you definately could have a urine attempt to verify while you're leaking proteins. it is no longer something in any respect, even though it does not harm to rule this out. solid success!
