Hi there,

First - Congratulations on your baby.

When my wife and I were going through our first and second births there was never a right time or were we doing things too early or too late.

If you feel that you would like to wash the clothes now so that they are nice and fresh and you have somewhere to keep them so that they will stay that way then go right ahead.

What you might like to do is wash them now and just before the baby is due wash the clothes that you will immediately need again so that in your mind everything is set ready to go when you bring your lovely new born home.

Good luck with the birth and the future with your child.

Cheers

nope, its not too early
thats when i did all mine
after my shower
and did some extra shopping
to get things i didnt get
from the shower
i washed them all that week
with the baby detergent DREFT
and folded all of them and etc.
but i did all the clothes, crib stuff
blankets, burp clothes etc.
Which im glad i did
because im 37 weeks now
and i really dont even feel like moving
so do it while you still can!
do them all that way you can make sure
you have plenty because im sure you
wont want to do laundry the first two weeks

I'm 38 weeks now and I washed all the clothes, bedding, and blankets in hypoallergenic detergent when I was around 34 weeks. I folded them and put them in a tub so that they would stay clean and would be ready for the baby. Nothing wrong with being prepared! Congrats-you're nesting!

You might want to wash the ones you know you will use and keep any extras ready to return and swap for other sizes when the time is right. You will have certain favorites that you may use often while others don't get worn much. Just wash the ones you really love and swap the others for more you really love.

Absolutely not. It's a great idea to get a head start and get everything situated. Remember to use a mild detergent, preferably perfume free, and wash the clothes at least twice before initially putting them on baby.

Best wishes!

No hurry. When you get home from delivery in about 8 weeks, you will need clean clothes. I would wait one more month. Unless you are really bored! Think positive, you will have a great baby in about 2 months...Thanksgiving baby?

i'm 22 weeks and 4 days and i've already washed most of his bedding and clothes. do it whenever you want. you are really close so you might as well or you might find yourself with a baby and no clean clothes to put on him or her.

I think that you should Waite if you re pregnancy is going good with no complications than you can wait till you are at least 35 weeks pregnant. But make sure that you put it in a nice clean place were it wont get dirty.

as long as you are confident in the gender!!!

As nice as it smells don't use dreft, some babies are too sensitive for the scent. I washed all my clothes in dreft, my son broke out in a rash from the perfume and I had to re-wash everything!!!

If it was me, I would wait 2-3 more weeks. Of if you're just too excited to wait, go ahead and wash them, but wash them again just before the baby is due.
