Particularly on virgin blue (Aus)? Did your pram get damaged in anyway. I have a reasonably expensive pram and am not sure how it will go taking it from NSW to QLD on a flight. Has anyone else done this?

I would only do it if I checked it ahead of time, not at the gate. I had a carseat damaged when I checked it at the gate (not on virgin), and there was no re-imbursement since they don't guarantee items not checked in advance. You may want to take a smaller stroller that you can fit in a bin, or you may want to look into a rental/used one at your destination.

I took my son to Europe from Australia when he was 11 months old so we had a lot of flights and lots of chances to get our pram damaged. And it did.

If I were you, I would just buy a cheap stroller for the trip - it will get banged about anyway and we all know how expensive they can be.
