Midwives/nurses/doctors seem to use the 'put breastmilk on it' cure for everything! I tried it for heaps of stuff and it never once cleared anything up!
I did however find a product called "fess little noses" which is a saline solution (completely safe and alcohol/medicine free) and it comes with an aspirator (a sucker looking thing like the one you see doctors using to suck mucus out of a just delivered baby's mouth)
You just put a couple of drops of saline in their nose, wait a minute and suck out the gunk. It works amazingly well and I am so glad my doctor put me onto it. My son had a cold at 9wks the poor guy and this saved our sanity! I am still using it for him now and he's 2.5 yrs old!
You can buy it at the chemist/pharmacy/drug store and they are not expensive ($10 give or take).
Best of luck

Vick's vapor rub on chest. There is a softer smell used for babies. You can also use a humidifier, Tylenol, Motrin. There are several meds available for stuffy noses that will also help with other symptoms. You could also have the baby in the bathroom (use caution) while you take a warm shower. I hear that might help too. I know I get cleared up when I take a warm shower.

You can use breastmilk, but it's not good for baby's ears.I prefer saline solution from bennets, but if you don't have $$$ you can make your own.500 ml warm water + one teaspoon salt, let it cool and use 1 or two drops every 4-5 hours... I have a nasal aspirator as well, it sucks the snot from baby's nose...You should try it, works really well!!!

I squirt milk into my babys eyes every once in a while when they get a little gooey. Can't hurt right? Either the breast milk thing really works or he wasn't really sick lol.

I don't get what you mean, do you mean if your baby is sick? Breast milk is supposed to be healthy and fight off things like that, if she is sick maybe you should get a vaporizer
