I'd like to know some things that helped your baby sleep through the night. When and how did you do this? My daughter is 2 months so I'm not able to feed her rice cereal or anything.

The norm in America seems to be for both parents to work and for the young baby to be put in a daycare center. The daycare centers tend to me crowded, small, too expensive, and have uneducated and underpaid employees. Why is this acceptable to most American mothers?

Of course I'm not going to spank her. She does her little snap fits when she wants something and she gets all bent (literally) out of shape. I pick her up and put her in her playpen and tell her to be a good girl, firmly, "You are not being a good girl!" Seems like there are some things out there that work effectively. Help! (thank you!)

p.s. she's smart. she says, "good" and "girl" and understands many words, so my telling her that does sink in I think....

My son is now 1 and he was hospitalized at 6 months old for blood in his stool. The doctor put him on Alimentum which he has had no problems with but now that he is 1, I have been trying to get him on cow's milk. I first tried to give him 3 parts formula to 1 part milk but he threw up(little bit) after an hour so I stopped for a while. When I took him to his own pediatrician, she told me not to mix them together but to give him a little bit at a time. So I gave him 2 oz milk which he drank, no problem and another 2 oz bottle about 2 hours later, no problem. But then about 1/2 hr later, I was out of the house and had no milk so I gave him his formula and about 2 mins later, he threw up a lot and it looked like yogurt! I think the doctor doesn't know what she is talking about!
Does any have any suggestions, maybe another type of milk will settle better in his stomach?

My mother in law says that I should try giving my month old baby baby cereal before bed with breast milk. Is this okay for his little tummy. She says it will make for a sleepless night for us. I know I have heard this before but what are the side effects for my little guy....on his growing tummy!

I have been giving her 7 ounces now, but do you think I will need to give her rice cereal? And if I do is it to early? And what do I do? Do I give it to her in a bowl??

My son just turned 8 months old. He is NOT a sleeper. He might take one good nap a day and maybe a few 10-15 minute "snoozes." He never falls asleep at night before 10pm and wakes up (literally) every 2-3 hours. It has always been this way. He eats two jars of baby food about 6 o'clock and nurses at 9. I've tried letting him cry, but I'm not good at that and he's very stubborn. Sometimes he'll be up for an hour at a time at night. I'm exhausted, any ideas?

Can anyone recomend a good breast pump. I am 35 weeks pregnant and want to breast feed but i am going to want to pump as well so that i do not have to feed all the time. I am looking for a inexpensive breast pump, i have been looking on line and the ones that seem to be good cost about 350, which is a little high for our budget. Can you recommend a good one that is a good price.

I had my twins on Friday, they were born at 35 weeks by c-section. They are currently at the NICU at the hospital and I would like to take them some breast milk to start feeding them, but I have no breast milk. I have a manual pump that my mom brought me and I tried it but nothing happens. After pumping for a couple of minutes, theres only like 2-3 drops of colostrum. Am I supposed to keep trying until something comes out? Or is there anything I can do to make it start flowing?
