We dont know what brand of formula you are using. I would look at the tin and call the helpline number on the back of the tin and ask them.
It cant have done too much harm if she is gaining weight and you should be feeding her solids now aswell, I would find that she is just hungry all the time.
For the answer below me every formula is different here in Australia, we have different scoop sizes so you always need to read the instructions.

She'll be fine, you've just been giving her more concentrated formula. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
But I am curious as to what formula you are using that you measure the water by scoops. All the formula I've seen and used (powder, that is) directs you to use 1 scoop of formula for every 2 oz of water

the water in formula is not measured in scoops its measured on the side of the bottle in ounces. If you were making a 4 ounce bottle then you add 1 scoop for every 2 ounces so it would be 2 scoops of formula and 4 ounces of water and so forth, I don't think it hurt since she still okay 8 months later but if she ate often now you know why.

Firstly it would likely make her constipated. Secondly it could cause dehydration and it would place undue stress on the kidneys.
Also generally you don't use the scoop for measuring the water for two reasons 1) it isn't the most accurate way to measure liquid 2) You don't want any water to get into the powdered formula as it will encourage bacterial growth. Powdered formula is not sterile.
Please call the number on the can and confirm how to mix up this formula.

My sister-in-law did something similar to my nephew and he's fine. I would talk to your baby's doctor to be sure...also, I'm really confused about the whole scoop thing that you said. This is how I've always mixed up formula:
1 scoop formula for 2 oz. water
2 scoops formula for 4 oz. water
3 scoops formula for 6 oz. water
4 scoops formula for 8 oz. water
I'm not sure exactly what you meant, but you should really just talk to your baby's doctor.

the water needs to be measured out to fit the formula to keep them from getting dehydrated. Is your daughter showing any signs of dehydration? That is the most important thing. Let her Dr know about the mistake you were making. The formula cans have instructions on them and i haven't seen one yet that doesn't say 1 scoop of formula for every 2 oz of water. The Dr need to know though about the mistake.

i am not sure where you are located..but you normally go by the ounces and the marks on the bottle... 2oz - 1 scoop of formula... 4oz- 2 scoops 6oz. 3 scoops 8 oz. 4 scoops...

I remember reading that infant formula made with too much water can cause starvation and formula made with too much powder can cause dehydration.
That sounds way scarier than I mean for it to sound, I'm just trying to repeat what I read about mothers who cannot afford formula so they dilute it, or mothers who try to make "super-formula" by doubling the powder.
If I were you, I would call the doctor in the AM and ask her if she wants to see your baby. For now, just repeat over and over "I'm doing the best I can do, I'm doing the best I can do . . ."

I would think she would just get upset stomach (gas). Talk to your baby's doctor. I wouldn't think it would do anything long term.
It has been about 8.5 years since I made a bottle, but I believe its 2 scoops to 4 ounces of water...?
