The limitations have been lifted for baby needs and their is no tasting required. I just flew less then a month ago and unfortunantly for me I took whole milk for my daughter and I was required to leave it but for my flight back I took ready made formula and they had no problem with me having it. It was a godsend for me because my daughter is just starting to get weaned off her bottle and she was drinking alot of milk during the trip and they did not let me have whole milk for her and I had to improvise because none of my flights or connecting airports carried whole milk. As long as you dont take a extreme amount (depends on your flight) then they will have no problem.

I believe the ban on liquids does not apply to baby items anymore... let me find it...
but if I don't... one option is to take the bottles w/ just the measured out powder in it, then ask the flight attendants to give you bottled water to top it off then shake it - that's what my cousin did a few months ago - worked out fine!!
**EDIT** ok, well this isn't UK related it's for the US, but this is what it says:
When carrying formula, breast milk, or juice through the checkpoint, they will be inspected, however, you or your baby or toddler will not be asked to test or taste breast milk, formula, or juice. Our Security Officers will not test or taste formula, breast milk, or juice.

I'm still looking for UK regulations... but if that's what the US says... I'd imagine the UK would be pretty similar.

my friend bought some at manchester airport after security. you could always ring the airport to ask them, quite often the website tells you nothing - except what perfume/aftershave brands you can buy.
i believe that you can take pre made up bottles of formula so long as you taste it at security watched by security.
good luck & enjoy your holiday!

you can bring prepared formula with you as well-- as long as you're traveling with a baby and it's not an excessive amount, they will let you bring baby milk in a bottle or cup. You just have to declare it at security.

see, no limitations, and no tasting things
