My son will be 3 months on Friday and I am wondering if I should switch to the size 3. He seems to be taking the 2 pretty slow and maybe I should upgrade. He is a big baby well over 13 lbs.
When did you upgrade?

just a question for everyone - do the women that breastfeed tend to make you feel like you're not as good of a mommy if you cant?
i had issue with breastfeeding right from the start- a bad case of thrush, my son throwing up ALL the time and not gaining weight. turns out he was allergic to my breastmilk. so after only 4 wks of nursing i had to call it quits. i cried over this loss - i felt unable to provide for him. some of the answers from womem who are breastfeeding are so hurtful.
i understand that breast is usually best, but you dont have to make others feel bad about bottle feeding whether it be by circumstance or by choice.
i literally mourned the fact i couldnt breastfeed and wish i really could have but others who had the opportunity should never judge those who cannot. it makes me even more upset that i cannot.

Right now I am using Powdered, both my other kids used it also. My 3rd child has more problems with gas and fussiness. Could the bubbles from where I shake the bottle with the powder be causing the gas? Would it help at all to switch to the ready to feed formula? Which did you or would you use? Thanks!

i just got a graco pack'n'play, the one with a bassinett and changing table and it's in meridian print.
it has the little thing on it that does lights and music, and it says it takes 3 double A batteries
i opened up the battery compartment (which was a pain in the rear loosening the screws) and it sure looks like it takes double A's but they do not fit, at all. in fact, i kind of forced one and it got stuck, i had to pry it out...
What's the deal!!!?? Has anyone else had this problem or am I just using some newfangled super double A, my goodness it's frustrating.

She won't sleep for more than an hour at a time. At night she wakes up every hour, sometimes less, and 2 hours is the longest she'll go. She wakes up and wants to nurse. I'm not sure if she 's doing it from hunger or for comfort, because sometimes she just takes a few sips, and goes back to sleep. But she won't go to sleep unless I nurse her for even a minute. She doesn't want a pacifier.
Even during the day, when she takes naps, she won't sleep for an hour or two at once. She wakes up all the time and wants to nurse. Is she using me as a pacifier? Could something be really bothering her? I took her to the doc, and she seems just fine. And when she's awake, she's a happy baby who laughs and babbles all the time. She's gaining about 3oz a week, which is okay for her age (8months).
Why won't she sleep for more than an hour at a time? I am soooo exhausted, but that's okay, I'll be patient. I just wish I knew what 's bothering her. It doesn't seem normal to me...

until recently i would go out a lot with my son so he would just tfall asleep in the car a lot so i figured the ride got him sleepy. The past few days i've been mostly home and i notice that after a little over an hour he gets super cranky and wants to sleep and his naps last at least 45 min they aren't catnaps at all. Is this normal? Should i itry to smoothe out his schedule more? he wakes several times during the night to nurse but just for a minute or two at a time and overall sleeps 10-12 hours a night so i dont think hes sleep deprived from the night

My daughter is 12mo. and she recently started changing her sleeping habits, she gets up frequently through the night. She use to sleep through the night, I give her a bath, feed her cereal and then put her to bed with a bottle. I though last week was because 2 more teeth broke through, but for instance, I was up last night from 10:45-11:20 and then sometime around 12am and we fell asleep on the couch, I woke up at 2 and tried to put her back down and she woke up by the time I got back in my bed, then from then from 2-3:30am we laid on the couch and then I rocked her back to sleep and got her to stay asleep in her bed. Her dad leaves for work a little after 5 and I pray every day he doesn't wake her. I didn't know if perhaps she got use to me laying with her on the couch last week to sooth her since she was teething last week, plus I didn't mind last week, cause we were on vacation.

My baby's nose has been draining for awhile, and he has also been coughing for awhile. When he breathes there is a rattling sound coming from his mouth like he needs to cough up some flem. But unfortunately he cant spit or blow his nose because he's only 7 months. The doctor has given different medicines and says he is healthy, but I think otherwise. This has been going on too long for a 7month old to just be healthy. And none of the medicines are doing anything.

my 3 week old son is usally colicy but after a bit of rocking him he will usually fall asleep. yesterday i decided to change his gerber bottles to the playtex that helps for colic by reducing the air in the bottle that causes gas. he usually does a number 2 2-3 times a day.. but today he hasnt at all and hes just passing gas and he cries every time he does so. hes been crying for about 4 hours straight ive tried everything, changing his diaper rocking him feeding him cuddling him gripe water etc. nothing working.. does anyone have any suggestions for the colic.. i wish i could take his pain from him and have it myself.. i just dont know what to do anymore.

My baby LOVES dogs. She says "dog" at least 5 or 6 times a day and we don't even have a dog. So, for her 1st birthday (in about 2 months) its gonna be a Dog Day ;-D. Please don't say she won't remember, because I'd have to beg to differ. I remember my 1st birthday and her Dad has early memories, too.

Besided Clifford the Big Red Dog and real dogs, the pet store, etc., what are some other dog themed things? Ideas?

I am looking for ideas for my one year old's birthday and since I know a hundred Answers users probably already asked, I searched the questions and answers and everyone says that babies don't remember. WRONG! MOST don't ... some do. I remember my 1st birthday.

So, you really don't remember, huh?
What IS your 1st memory?

i've picked this travel system because of the safe-t seat that can sit infants up to 30 pounds and the stroller can fit up to 50 pounds. i just tried it out at the store and compared to the others i really liked it. if you own it or have experience with it i'd like input or suggestions of something equally as nice for cheaper

(i've read reviews on target.com and other sites already)

I have to start supplementing formula to my 4 month old son soon. Any suggestions on what would be a good formula to buy. Also, what is the best way to introduce formula to a child who has been strictly breastfed or do babies typically do not have a problem switching back and forth.

I did not realize that women were still breastfeeding!! Why not just give formula milk or condensed or evaporated milk??? Does no one realize it's more nutritious for them?? There are more vitamins and things in formula than in breastmilk, especially nowadays. With these formulas they have now, why would any mother breastfeed?

I will be having my first baby very soon and my mom is offering to come stay and help us. She can come and stay about a week the day I come home or a few days later... which is most helpful? I don't know if it is best for my husband and I to have some alone time together with the new baby and sort of figure things out for ourselves or have her here to help answer all our questions. I'm also a little worried about feeling smothered and needing some space after spending a few days in the hospital and the up and downs of my emotions.

Which scenario have you mothers found most helpful?
