i just got a graco pack'n'play, the one with a bassinett and changing table and it's in meridian print.
it has the little thing on it that does lights and music, and it says it takes 3 double A batteries
i opened up the battery compartment (which was a pain in the rear loosening the screws) and it sure looks like it takes double A's but they do not fit, at all. in fact, i kind of forced one and it got stuck, i had to pry it out...
What's the deal!!!?? Has anyone else had this problem or am I just using some newfangled super double A, my goodness it's frustrating.

i had the same problem getting the batteries in..if you play around with it long enough they eventually go in. Its as if they have to go in at exactly the right angle.

I have an EvenFlow one and I felt the same way at first, and when you look at the bottom of the bassinette top part, it is slumped down wherever you put the baby, but it is more sturdy than what you think. You should be fine. My weight limit is something like 15 lbs, so right around there, I won't use it anymore. I only use mine to lay the baby down if I'm busy or for naps anyway. But she slept in there for about the first week.

That's really weird! I would try putting the batteries in a few more times, maybe you are having a blonde moment (J/K!) Maybe they are just supposed to fit in there really tight? You could always call the store that you purchased it from and ask them if it is supposed to be that way...maybe you got a defective one?? Good luck!! =)
