I did not realize that women were still breastfeeding!! Why not just give formula milk or condensed or evaporated milk??? Does no one realize it's more nutritious for them?? There are more vitamins and things in formula than in breastmilk, especially nowadays. With these formulas they have now, why would any mother breastfeed?

No, I really wasn't aware of this. Is it newly popular or has it always been this practiced?? I know women breastfed before formulas, but now that there are formulas, I didn't know women chose to do that. I thought they automatically used formulas. My mother did that with me and my siblings. There was no second thought then, granted that was the late 50's / early 60's..

What? You're completely wrong. Breast milk is best for babies. And condensed and evaporated milk?! Babies should not be given cow's milk until they are a year old (or almost a year old).
Your post seems like it popped out of 1965. That's what women were wrongly told back then.

This question is as bad as some of those questions asked by pregnant 13-year-olds.
The "formulas they have now" are better than the formulas a couple of decades ago because scientists have figured out how to make formula more like breastmilk. I had to bottlefeed my first because of latch-on difficulties. I exclusively breastfed my second (he didn't wean until he was 2 1/2 years old). I'm doing both with my third because a postpartum infection required antibiotics that weren't safe for breastfeeding mothers to take and I had to "pump and dump" (use a breast pump to suck out milk, then dump it down the drain). I have his formula right here. It reads, "Enfamil ProSobee LIPIL, A blend of DHA & ARA - Nutrients Found in Breast Milk." They *finally* got around to putting something useful in formula. Something that has always been "Found in Breast Milk."
When I realized that I wasn't going to succeed at breastfeeding my daughter, I was devastated and considered myself a failure as a mother and a woman. Speaking of which, I will never understand why so many feminists back in the day didn't realize how empowering it is to be the sole source of nourishment and comfort for their baby.

Breastfeeding is safer, easier, more cost effective and healthier. You should NEVER feed an infant condensed or evaporated milk. Formula defiantly isn't healthier then breast milk. I think its fine that women choose to feed formula but it isn't superior to breast milk. Even formula company's say that. Do some research before you have children.
P.S. Luv2Answer I defiantly am not breastfeeding to loose weight and because I'm cheap. That's so ignorant. Give me a break. Women choose to formula feed for many good reasons just like women choose to breastfeed for a variety of many good reasons. Why are you so hostile...do you feel inadequate or something?

Actually all doctors say that breastmilk is much more nutritious and healthy for babies. Formulas are second best and do not have all the good things that breastmilk have. All doctor say you should breastfeed and if you can't then you should formula feed. I breastfed both my boys because I would not give my children something that is second best and that is what formula is. When watching the formula commercials when they say that breastfeeding is best and recommended what do you think they mean? Something that is supposed to immitate breastmilk could never be as good as the real thing.

While there are hundreds upon hundreds of milk formula brands in the market, pediatricians still agree that breastmilk is still best for babies because it contains the highest amounts of vitamins and antibodies that will help babies' immune system. Also, not all babies can take in milk formulas due to allergies. In the same way, breastfeeding also promotes healing for the new mother and in some cases, even weight loss!

Did you just say condensed or evaporated milk??!! I've never heard of giving that to babies. Breastfeeding is by far the BEST for you baby. Some women are lucky enough to do it, some aren't. For me, I couldn't produce enough, so it lasted for a month. Breastmilk has a lot more to it then formula. It can help prevent illness in the future and much more. Breastfeeding is also a great way to bond with the baby.
Anyways....why do you think women have breasts?? They're not there JUST for the pleasure of men. They are made to feed our babies. That's the whole point of having them.

There is so much more you can do for your baby's immune system by breastfeeding. I had no choice but to do it with my 2nd. If I had known it was that easy, no mess, nothing to clean up, I would've done it with the 1st ! Did you know that if you've ever had measles or chicken pox, and you've built up the immunity to it, as long as your baby is breastfeeding, he or she will have that same immunity from chicken pox and measles ! You really can't substitute the "real" thing. It's like saying a veterinarian could come up with a better formula than a kittens own mother. That's not how it works ! Here's another plus....I gained 14 pounds with my 2nd. When I went back for my 2-week check-up, I had lost 22 !!!

haha, wow you dont know much do you? lol, breastfeeding lowers the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, gastroenteritis, childhood allergies, and infection for the baby. It also helps the mother by lowering her risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, hip fractures, and loss of bone density. The mothers milk has so many more nutrients in it than formula, all the ones the formula has, and some that man can not produce. Also it can help a women get back to her weight after the baby is born....read up on your stuff....seriously....

Where did you get your information on bottle feeding versus breast feeding? If you are pregnant consult with your babies Pediatrician on this subject before your baby is born.
Breast feeding is natural. Formula is not. The first two months breast milk is a good laxative for the baby. It is easier to digest, there for easier on baby's tummy. With breast feeding, baby has less gas because baby is not getting as much air they get from nursing the bottle. If mom is healthy, on a healthy diet and taking her prenatal vitamins, the baby gets in it's "natural formula" (breast milk) what the mom takes in. All my babies slept through the night after they were a week old because the were well nourished and satisfied with their feedings. My babies didn't have colic. Our Dr. said that most breast fed babies do not have colic. I hope you will do a little more research on this subject.

You have to be kidding! Breast milk is way better than formula. Not only is breast milk much more nourishing but also has antibodies. Any mother who wants to give their child the best would at least attempt to breastfeed, if able.
Wow, Luv2Answer is even more ignorant than you. She just wants to make herself feel better for not laying off the drugs so she could breastfeed.
