well she is going to be 2 weeks old on wednesday, and i was just wondering if it's okay to feed her like every 2 hours instead of every 3? she wakes up crying and when i feed her she sucks it down! Is that over feeding her ya think? and how do i know when to start giving her more food? any advice for a new mommy!

Feed her as often as she wants to eat and as much as she wants to eat. She will know when she has had enough and she will let you know. There will be times when she is particularly hungry and other times when she is not particularly hungry. It is important to let her decide when and how much to eat. Do not try to get her to eat more when she seems like she is not interested and allow her to eat more if she seems to want more even if you think she "should" have had enough. Babies go through growth spurts when they need to eat a lot more than their "usual" and when they are not doing much growing it's amazing how little they need to eat. I don't think you can overfeed or underfeed a newborn as long as you listen to their signals. She will let you know how much to feed her!

Feed her whenever she seems to want it. If you are breastfeeding this is totally normal. Babies "automatically" get what they need/want and won't overeat. But for some this is grazing all day, and for others this is a solid meal every 3 hours. Either is ok. I'm less familiar with bottle-feeding, but the general rule I've heard is that if she finishes a bottle at a feeding, offer her 1 more ounce the next time you feed her. I still wouldn't shy away from feeding her more often if she takes it. If babies don't need/want food, they just won't take it. It's an amazing thing! Good luck!

My baby is 12 weeks tomorrow and for the first 6 weeks he ate every 2-2.5 hours, he had between 2-3oz at a time... sometimes just 1oz... 3 hours is just a reference, babies need to eat when they are hungry... :)

she will let you know what she needs , not some mythical "schedule" At 2 weeks 2-3 hrs sounds normal. There may be times when she wants it more often, other times she may be content to just be.

Feed her anytime she's hungry, you really don't need to worry about over feeding as long as she's hungry.
