There are some who wants a baby girl to be their first born and other couples prefer to have a baby boy to be their first born. Other than choice of preference of parents, what is really the significance of having a boy or a girl to be the eldest in a family?

This is probably a dumb question..but it seems like some sort of bruising or pain of some sort would occur to the infant on their way out through the pelvis. Because of the tight squeeze and all.

i breastfed my son for as long as i could. i eventually started him on formula and he is thriving. not only is he well fed, he is healthy, smart and well taken care of. i am not ignorant, selfish, or uneducated. i've read all the studies about formula feeding vs. breastfeeding and i feel like many women do the same when they find out they're expecting. my point is, why is it anyone's busines what a woman feeds her baby? as long as a baby is getting the proper nutrition, how can you honestly belive it is your job to make snide remarks about how that baby is being fed? i am happy for those who are able to breastfeed, but not all women can or want to. and you know what? that is OUR choice, not yours. i am sick and tired of women acting all high and mighty about how they feed their munchkin. it's even worse when men get into the debate as if they have ever had milk coming out of their boobs! does anyone else feel this way? if you are a breastfeeding "nazi", why do you think it's your place

I can recall from human development classes back in college that newborn babies up to a certain age can instinctively swim, and "know" not to breathe in when submerged in water. Now, dont get me wrong...im not planning on throwing my baby in a body of water once she is born. But, I am curious to know if anyone knows of any factual info on the subject...thanks!

I asking this to really find out the truth behind the reason that some Moms choose to formula feed.. The standard answer is it is a personal choice.. well sure it is but why did you choose not to breast feed?

I want to add that I am not trying to be hateful, I am just curious to know what motivates people into formula feeding. It seems allot of Moms don't have the correct information, they don't have allot support etc.. I really want to help not judge.

So I started my six week old daughter on formula today. She was breastfeed for the first six weeks. I have only just started today and have only added one ounce of formula to the breastmilk. She has been sleeping all day long. She's ate probably about five times today so far...is this enough? Is the formula making her sleep longer? Is any of this normal?

put a fish tank in my son's room? They are 5-weeks-old and they LOVE the fish tank we have the living room and so my and my husband thought about putting it into their room so they could see it (not touch it) from their crib. Then they get old enough to crawl and pull themselves up and stuff, we will prbably move it back to the living room where we can keep an eye on it, but for now, when they can't move around my themselves, would there be any problem?

My baby is 10 wks old (and I have a 10 yr old son). She's just a great baby, so I can't complain. She even sleeps all night! But I can't understand why I am tired all the time? My whole body just aches. I feel like I am just thru the montions nearly every day. My husband doesn't understand. He thinks I am on vacation from work. Half the time I want to scream at him because he just doesn't understand, but how can I blame him when I don't understand myself.

I am also grappling with going back to work- in 1 week. Should I or should I not at home. There are a lot of pros and cons there so its a tough choice.

1. When my baby is 12 weeks old, how many ounces of breast milk can I expect her to eat per serving? (In other words, how much do I need to pump?)

2. At how many weeks should I be able to pump that amount in one pumping session?

3. Is it ok to mix batches of previously frozen milk when the batches are from different days provided she eats the entire mixed batch that day?

My daughter is 7 weeks old and she is headeded for daycare in5 weeks when I return to work. I've been using the Medela Pump In Style Advanced pump.

We need a sleeping bag for our son, as he kicks his covers off a lot and then wakes us up to tell us all about it. (Yawn). Ive only been able to find sleeping bags for 10lbs +. Any ideas where I could get a smaller one? (In the uk). Thanks.

ok my baby is only six days old and was born three and a half weeks early at five pounds. it seems as though every family member even those who used to never come around now do want to hold and kiss my little girl. What is the most common thing she can catch from others being around her even if they are not sick? i ask them to use sanitizer but somtimes one or two people sneak in and don't use it and with so many people i can't catch who washes and who don't. any advise from someone who has been in my situation would be great!
