if he didn't cry then he is most likely fine. if you are still concerned then ring the doc. the sofy spot on the back of the ehad should be closed with cartilage by now, it may not feel like it but it probably is. worse had happened. once i put my son (who was 6 weeks at the time) on ym bed so i could put the sheild to the breast pump down and i turn around and he had rolled off. i was so worried but luckily he rolled onto a big pack of diapers! he was fine. it made me feel crappy though. i nevevr did tell my fiance that, i thought he would think iwas a bad mommy. my son is 4 1/2 months now

*** KJ babies have soft spots on both the top and back of the head, the top one is bigger and the back one closes within a couple months

Hun, if he has a temperature, he has a temperature, nothing to do with bumping his head. If he has, he's probably either a)Teething or b)Brewing a cold. If he has nothing wrong other than the temperature then just give him some calpol and some cuddles. If it doesn't go down, then you can give calprofen too - but stagger it so that he has alternate medicine every 2 hours (i.e. 2pm calpol, 4pm calprofen, 6pm calpol etc etc). I'm sure he'll be just fine though. 7 months is the age when they start bumping their heads and various other places a lot. My 10 month old has a more or less permanent bruise on his head where he repeatedly bangs his head or falls over (he's starting to walk now!!).

He is fine. Those soft spots are his heads protection against those little accidents.

The day I brought my daughter home (16 yrs old now) she had gone to sleep around 10pm and someone suggested that I go to bed. I was aggravated with all the company we had and even more upset that I was told to go to bed like a child when there were still people at my house and picked up my little girl and stormed upstairs and fell.

I had her swaddled and the back of her head knocked the edge of a stair. She didn't cry and seemed just fine so we went to bed. I woke up from a nightmare that she was blind for life, we went to the ER to have her checked out.

She was fine and the doctor instructed my husband that for the first few weeks unless I request it no one should be at the house no matter who they are because we as a family needed to bond and rest.

When I had my son, I allowed only 2 or 3 hr visits during the day and people but out.

You are a great mom to be concerned but you are doing fine.

I'm guessing you are a first time Mum? Well done on asking for help instead of worrying and stressing yourself silly but being afraid to ask. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about. I'm sure you would have mentioned it if you'd knocked him out cold, so I can only assume since he didn't cry that it wasn't a big bump. They are amazingly tough. It is great to be cautious, obviously, but babies are a lot tougher than most people realise. I was scared terribly for years because when my first daughter was young I walked in on my partner (now ex, what a great decision!) shaking her. I thought he may have damaged her brain and I wouldn't know until she was big enough to start showing signs she was slow. She's 7 now and about 2 years ahead of where she should be, so I'm assuming no damage was done! Not that I would recommend shaking a baby!!! I think it was very lucky I walked in when I did. Sound like your baby is much loved and very lucky to have you as a mother, so continue your wonderful care, and good luck with it all

If you are really worried, take him to the doctor. But it won't be the first accident. My relatives' baby son who is 5 months old, has bumped his head quite a few times now.

If he is not acting lethargic or throwing up I would relax and just keep an eye on him for the rest of the day. The soft spot on his head is actually a pretty tough membrane.

i think u should be more careful when they start to walk and fall thousands of times

don't worry about it and the soft spot is on the top of there head not the back. if you lightly rub the top of the babies head you can feel the soft spot although your sons soft spot should be healing shut soon.

Well i don't think its something to worry about, unless he starts acting strangely. I have 2 kids, and they have bumped their heads and they are fine, so i wouldn't worry about too much. Babies soft spots are on the very top of their heads, so unless his head is bleeding or his acting strange , Don't worry. just mention it too his Dr next time you have an appointment. Remember these things happen. Good luck!!

the soft spots are not on the back of his head but the top of his head where the skull is suppose to fuse together your baby should be fine don' t let him sleep for a while and keep an eye out for bumps and bruises.
