Every baby is a bit different, and the better you care for it (cleaning it with alcohol) the quicker it will happen. My son's fell of in 10 days.

A 1998 study by the Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation in Ontario, Canada, found that untreated cords healed in eight days, while it took ten days for alcohol-swabbed cords to fall off. (None of the 1,800 newborns in the study developed an infection.)

About 10days. FYI after it falls off you have to keep it as dry and clean as possible in there. Dip a Q-tip in rubbing alchohol and drip a few drops of it into the belly button... let it sit for a bit and then use the Q-tip to clean it out. There's no nerve endings in there, so your baby won't even notice. You can be prett agressive with the cleaning. I did that for my baby and it worked like a charm. It was totally healed in a few days.

Depends if you mean the stub or if you had a lotus birth and mean cord and placenta... My first daughter had her cord cut, took 3 weeks. My second was a lotus birth, took 4 days and healed amazingly, not a spot of blood. She has a belly button to die for now, gorgeous!

They used to signify utilising rubbing alchol, yet whilst i became interior the well being facility with my son, they simply informed me to bathe it with water and pat dry. additionally, my guy had slightly blood around his for somewhat and likewise whilst it fell off.. freaked me out in the commencing up, yet my Dr suggested it became thoroughly usual! Congrats!

It took about 10 days for my babies to all off. When I went for her one week check up, the doctor pulled on it a little to loosen it up so that it would fall off quicker.
